Hey, we've got a forum, guys! I'm posting under my FANS!-related name, but ...
For those interested, I'm Kara Dennison, the artist and co-author of ConScrew. This is for talking about it. Yay us.
Best fishes,

Hey Folks. I thought I might have to throw my hat into the ring as a human being as well. I'm BJ Cooper, the guy who writes the acid trippy strips. I also do occasional legal and clerical stuff. I never, ever bring coffee.
I think it's great that we have a board, if only so I can be distracted from whatever else I thought I was doing.

------------------

Actually, Rumy is based on T himself ... that gets into all manner of Freudian stuff that I'm not gonna go into here. ^^; But when I first started reading the comic (back in print), my first thought was "Hey ... little freshman, anime-obsessed girl, gets crushes on artists, likes to kick stuff ... that's ME!"
Although the college is based on my college, and the club is based on my club ... but the genesis was well before my time, even though I've got a hand in the newer stuff.
I'd personally like to see a Fans!/ConScrew crossover sometime. EH, T? Come on, I know you read this.
And I await your e-mail eagerly, O Mighty Vader.

As Assistant Lord-High-Muckymuck of FANS! I have to say I'm all for a crossover. We have (and will continue to) piggybacked on more established comics, and it would be nasty and vicious of us not to return the favor -- particularly as Kara and Ben are wonderful people who are holding some of my stuff hostage.
Gregory Eatroff, Editor, FANS!
------------------

Oh, and Katherine shouldn't be too hard to get to an anime convention. There are plenty of midieval-themed pieces out there that would appeal to her, and her interests are a little more varied than she's been given credit for. Remember, they sent her in to negotiate with the Saccharine-Siezure-Beast Customizable Card Game guy. She had to know enough about that piece of anime-inspired brain sucking (bitter? me? well, maybe a little...) to keep the guy convinced she was on the level until the rest of our heroes sprang into action.
------------------

She's pretty much a composite of "anime flavor." But hey, Japanese schoolgirls are always good for sales. I think that's how MegaTokyo keeps the non-l33+ fans.

quote:

I'd say more, but darn it, you haven't met those characters yet.
------------------

At least I did laundry.
Anyway, as far as I can tell this Crossover thing is a go as soon as we're comfortable with the level of development of our own cast of characters, which will extend a bit beyond the triad of Emmy, Adrian, and Mimi (and the famous cameos, of course). This of course probably means that I'll have to spend a couple more days reading and re-reading Fans! to internalize what it is that makes it great, then wed it to ConScrew, which will be fascinating.
I hate not being able to say more, but I've already scripted a lot, and it would be bad of me to ruin the next three months for you. Keep reading; this only gets better.
