New Family

Well the little family seems to be growing again.

First I added "Crash" now Jet and Yukiro have a baby on the way. I plan on have the little bundle of joy be born sometime next month. Haven't thought of a name yet though.

I hadn't actually planned on introducing a little kid into this strip it just seemed natural though that Jet and Yukiro would have kids. I mean they are rabbits.

More Later!

You know, I was actually happy for them when I read the comic. Jet and Yukiro are my favorite characters, they've gone through more hardships than some of the others and in turn it's nice to see good things happen to them.

I've always liked Mike, and so far Riz is a solid character.

I wanted to ask, I noticed a really dramatic change in the storytelling style from one arc to the next. At first the stories were simple and action packed, and now they are much deeper and character oriented with still plenty of action. I noticed this about the time that Jet lost his ear and nearly died, (I kinda hoped the ear loss was permanent but I'm over it.)

What brought on this change?

I don't know if there was one thing that brought about a change. The first few story archs were very simple. As I spent more time coming up with ideas I just sort of grew more complex stories. You can only go on so long with simple fluff stories. I wanted to say/do something more complex.

As I get better at drawing I like to hope I'll get better at telling stories. My own favourite stories are more than just pretty words and pictures. Not that I won't do just fun stuff. Like the upcoming Indian Jones spoof.

Till next time!

I've been giving a lot of thought as to when exactly this started to become a more thought out kind of strip. Not just the one-off quick action stories.

I think it started when I introducing the Yukiro/Jet relationship with the <a href="http://captainmike.keenspace.com/d/20010414.html">"Unstrip" scene</a>. It's not something I did on purpose but the way I wrote it implied a much longer relationship than I had originally invisioned. The Yukiro Jet wedding even caught me off gaurd. It felt right but I didn't really get why. So later I added those few sences with Gek to expand a bit on Rabbit culture.

Now with a baby on the way I'm not quite sure what the crew's new dynamic will become. Like Mike I was worried about the possibility of Jet and Yukiro leaving. But looking at the situation from their point of view I ddn't see why they would want to leave. Not that this crew is permenantly eched in stone. For this little group of very diverse people they've formed their own family.

-Till later
