Song of the Week!

Postby EsylaMcSassy on Mon Sep 24, 2001 11:53 am

This week's Song of the Week is Stupid Kid, by Alkaline Trio.
What? You didn't even know I had a Song of the Week? Well...neither did I. I just love this song so much right now that it desevres some sort of title.
And in related news, Matt Skiba is Boy-That-Sarah-Wants-to-Marry of the Week ^_^;;
------------------

Really... I don't know. I still don't entirely understand what is meant by this "emo". But if, say, Across the Sea isn't at least somewhat emo, then I'm more lost than someone who is very lost and doesn't understand the subject at all. Which is entirely possible.

yeah... what the hell kind of word is "emo" anyway? Sounds like some kind of alien being. A small, pathetic alien being.

There's always a debate about whether ro not weezer is emo.
I'd say that some of their songs are very emo in lyrical content and perhaps in music as well...but I read an interview with Rivers in ehich he said "I don't know what this 'emo' thing is, but apparently I had something to do with it".
So I wouldn't call them an emo band.
I wouldn't call them anything really...
they're just WEEZER.
------------------

Sounds exactly like my reaction to Jeff Buckley's "Lover, you should've come over" and "Hallelujah," and most of the Standard's new cd.

um..the subsong of the week is "hands down" by dashboard confessional.
have you ever known a song where it was just so good and made you feel so much that at certain points of the song your voice faltered in singing along because you were overwhelmed by the pure goodness of it?
yea.
------------------

Um, my voice falters anyway, which is why I rarely sing along with anything.
Yeah, that, and I forget the lyrics.
