I'm in favor of the single row strip. It flows nicely. It may not work for all situations, but I encourage you to use it when you can, particularly if it saves you time and grief.
Mike
P.S. Now that you've gone on at length about that strip you're not posting, you've got to put whatever of it you've finished up somewhere, or be indicted for cruelty to your readers.
------------------

I don't actually have the house drawn. What I do have drawn are about four pages. Three are all in the same style, and happen in the middle of the story, one is totally different in drawing style and is the first page. I will put up the strip with the leaves, but probably not the others. I will probably finish the project in the next six months, but in order to so, I would have to take a break from Too Fat. I'm on break from work as I write this, but I'll post more later. I'm glad you liked the single row strip.

Each format works for me. Different impact, reading experience, texture, and "build" -- I like the variety. Also, I set my browser window so I only see the top first panels and I enjoy the unexpected revelation when you do longer strips. So do 'em as you like 'em and I'll read 'em.

You can't advertise a house for the dead WITH BUTLERS and not expect people to be interested.
