Hi, I just want to know something that's in my mind... You don't REALLY HAVE to answer my question if you don't want to, but I would appreciate if you do so.Look, I know that you, White Elves are enemy with the Drow elves and don't have a good opinion about them because they - we - are evil, but I wandered if your opinion changes talking about renegade Drow Elves, those who escaped from the Underdark to the surface world (that we call "The Light World") and chose to be good followers of Eilistraee. That's all I wanted to know.I hope you don't drop this posting as soon as you read it, but if you do... well, I wouldn't blame you.Hope to read you soon,

I thogut it was just something you were discussing with Kern.Em: You may be right... I dunno. Anyway, answer.Feodor: First and foremost, TBE is not a D&D comic. There are no such thing as drow. There's a subterranean city somewhere (I've never been to it mysef), but those elves are just like the rest of it, if a bit paler. There's no such thing as "white" elves, either. We elves class ourselved by nationality, not skin color. I'm a Russian elf. Sure, so I've got Caucasian skin, that doesn't make me white. After all, my skin is peachy, my eyes are brown, my hair is blonde. How is any of that white? Feh. And not all elves and fairies have pale skin. Hirschel's is olive. Kiprilla's fairy, Pingault, has dark skin. And those're just two. So I can't answer your question because there are no "white" or "drow" elves. We're simply elves, just like you humans are simply humans, with a variety of skin tones and nationalities. I hate it when people get all gung-ho about D&D and other fantasy junk. I'm not living in a fantasy world.

(gasp)There, that does it. Sorry abou that, I just got off about 30 hours of last minute research paper writing. Two months work in only two days! I think I'm starting to recover now, though.But what I wanted to mention was that the vast majority of surface elves in modern Faerun are evil worshipers of Vhaelhroon. Ok, not that name, but the drow god of males, thieves, and some other stuff whose name starts with a v and is kindof like that which I can't remember offhand. Over seven thousand in Cormanthor alone. And even when you narrow things down to Eilistraee, a big chunk of her followers are only 'not evil', that is, not neccesarily good. Heck, even all of her clerics aren't good, what with the one step rule. (NG, CG, CN all qualify as clerics for her)Cerillian, total hours of sleep since sunday at midnight: 14. Hours of that on monday: 3. Hours of that last night: 0. Current status: Sugar, Carbohydrates and Caffine support system engaded.

I don't get it, why do people seem to think TBE has anythign to do with D&D? Is it because D&D has pervaded so much of our fantasy culture? Weren't the Japanese schoolgirls and modern-style houses enough of a clue? What about the fact there's not a single whiff of D&D stuff on the site except in Ask an Elf when people ask about it?I may as well give up while I'm still sane. Well, err, I wasn't really addressing that last thing towards TBE, but just what the original poster said. I'm fully aware that TBE is non-D&D. In fact, I like a large amount of fantasy works that have non-D&D elves. Its just that, well, what the original poster said doesn't quite match up with current Faerun events, is all.Cerillian, sorry for confusion

Am I the only one who hasn't played D&D or other such games? My roomie does, but it doesn't interest me. I basically know nothing about Drow, other than what I find out in Kern's comic, and don't care one way or another about them. If Em makes a universe where there are no such thing as Drow, then who's to say that she's wrong? If her storyline has no reason to have them, then why bother. Hirschril doesn't understand the concept, and I don't really get it either, nor do I really want to. All I'm saying is if Em doesn't want or need them, then it's fine with me.

Okay, I'm sorry if I sound like a total elg'caress, but I just have to add my two cents...or is it sense? Ah well, point is this: I know TBE is NOT D&D nor Forgotten Realms related. However, Feodor, no offense honey, but I kinda resent that little statement of "no such thing as Drow." They are out there my friend, I should know. I've been "adopted" by one....sort of. Okay, we adopted each other. That's why Drizzt Do'Urden is my papa. ^____^ And that's also how I became the matron mother of the new House Do'Urden. :-p ACK! Did I mention that out house is not evil and absolutely NO EVIL DROW are allowed in? I just wanted to clarify before I got hunted down or something.Anyways, thing is, there may not be any Drow from your corner of the universe, but please don't say they don't exist. I don't know if I can hold Guen back if you did again.
