I went to your page and looked at the extra page to see if me name (my quote was lame next to the puppy quote...and the brain explody quote..) but Some of the other stuff on there was really funny.
I appreciated the parodies on other types of comics especially the on about furries...that made me giggle alot.
and I also like the on about serious comics.
because that line hal said was a perfect example ^_^
you hit the nail on the head with that one
but what was the one with Hal and the knife?
i was thinking it was a takeoff on JTHM
but i wasn't sure...
by the way when do Whichway and the big blue guy show up?
They look really cool..
also i would like to draw more fanart for you but I don't know what to draw it of..suggestions?

My comic reminds people of the Hithhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I really like those books and I guess they were kind of an influence. And maybe Star Wars and Farscape, although that may have been after I came up with Space Losers. I don't remember.I wish more people would post on my message board. It's been awfully quiet lately, but I know I have some readers. Oh well.

Well...I used Adobe Photoshop
I scanned the postcard and the picture separate..made the sizes compatible and after coloring the images and messing with effects I just made all the area along the characters transparent with the magic wand tool and copied and pasted into the postcard... its easy actually
You know what I just finished reading the entirity of the hitchhikers guide!
it is alot like that! but if you have any cows that ask people to eat them I will cry...have you read that part of the series?
Actually Spacelosers kinda reminds me of Futurama but thats just me.
Do you read alot of comics?

I don't read comic books. I don't really like the Marvel comics or other comics like that. I'd rather read a novel, or watch a good movie or cartoon.
I've read the whole Hichhikers series, twice now. There are a lot of things in the HGTTG I wouldn't do in my comic. I don't plan to have any time traveling, or talking cows, or ways to fly, hiper-intelligent shades of the color blue, or any of that other crazy stuff.
Well... there will be something to do with time, but no actual time travel. Mostly just space travel.Anyway, I also like fantasy and may someday do a fantasy comic. I have gobs of story ideas I'm not sure what to do with.What kind of stuff do you like to read? How did you come up with your comic? Do/Did you take art lessens or mostly teach yourself?~D.W. (who does nothing but hang around the message boards all day)

Well I like to read Scott McCLoud, you should look at his books aout the mechanics of comics...wonderful series and my favorite comic artist is Johnen Vasquez he does his own humorous style...very gothic..he's the same guy who doe the new cartoon Invader Zim if you have seen it..and if you haven't you should!!! its sooo good.
ummm I read everything but i like Stephen King and horror stuffs ohh and J.R.R.Toiken
and Eve Forward...the classics are good to..
and Bring me the head of prince charming thats another good book....anyway
L.O.L.M. is my only kiddie safe comic the rest are kinda graphic and older audience oriented...
I have lots of story ideas lying around as well..silly us..you'll have to tell me about some of your other it stuff sounds interesting.ummmm L.O.L.M....well I've never told anybody but this is the real story...
one day I was looking through one of my books about mythology and there was a pictue of an evil dryad but it looked like it had a dead bush on its head
and I drew some sketchs of what would be Orkney..then i started work on one character to represent the mythology of some of the major mythology sections
Songhua-chinese myths(her name is a city in china)
Orkney-celtic (he and all his family all are named after places in ireland and Scotland)
January-european myths (vampires)
they all looked funky but the idea was there originally Orkney was a Highway robber and somewhat of a badass but i nixed that for the innocent guy he is now. Songhua took over the bad ass position.
My story is actually really symbolic...but
I would have to explain it and i don't wannaI taught myself everything I know..i took lessons but I really never learned much^_^
I follow from example then take it a new direction.
What about you? Come on there has to be an interesting story behind your comic...mines kinda wordy...
sighhh I'm feeling really depressed today..no inspiration at all so I went to the keenspace message boards and wrote a sad speech...

Sorry you thought your quote was lame, you'll just have to say something else. I made up the puppy quote.I didn't know what I was doing with Hal and the knife. I just wanted to draw him as a psycho. I wanted to put a title above every panel, but I couldn't think of anything good.
I like the space babies one, they're so cute.Whichway is coming up after they make it to Pofsha... I mean, er, if they make it to Pofsha. Not too long. Mooch will show up a bit latter. I wish they would hurry up and be in the comic. It doesn't seem complete to me without them.More fan art? I'm sure anything you draw will be great. Draw Whichway and Mooch. Too bad you don't really know their personalities yet.
I'm working on something that has a character from all my most read comics, and one of yours is in it. Other than that, I'm not sure what else to draw for you.

Well, it's late but I'll post something now because I might not get a chance to tomorrow. But I might anyway.
There's really not much more to say about the origin of Space Losers. It's not that deep of a story. Hal is kind of like me in some ways. Only I'm more shy and less adventures. He left earth because he was tired of people. He hoped aliens would be easier to live with. But he was wrong. Aliens are just like humans, they cheat and steal and lie and do all sorts of other bad things to each other. But, also like humans, there are some good ones. Liz just doesn't like anyone.
Now, I said all this but you probably wouldn't see it in the comic. The main point of my comic is really just to entertain. I'm going to write a little something for my Extra page about drawing funny comics and serious comics. It's not easy to be funny. But it's not easy to be serious either. Better to do something silly then to try to do something serious and look silly anyway.
I think I'm rambling. I should go to bed.I've been feeling kinda down too, for about half a year. But life goes on, unles it doesn't.
I have seen Invader Zim and I really like it.
I have two or three other story ideas on mind right now, all of them slightly more serious than Space Losers. One's a fantasy, the main character's a girl. No real humans in the story, but human-like creatures. Another's about a shy, quite kid at college and strange stuff happens. When I say serious I don't mean realistic. I'll never do anything really graphic. No cursing or sexual content. They're all pretty clean.

I know how you feel about not all the characters in yet my main characters are a threesome and the third one won't show up for a while yet!Which is a shame because he is really fun to draw...I have a couple of pictures of him in the gallery Its the dhamphir named January..he won't be easy to draw as I think though....he can't talk..What do you think of the new layout? Yours grows everytime i see it!!!..I really need to make some buttons....
But I was proud of the postcard I made..did you see it? Went to Yellowstone Park recently and picked up about a zillion postcards I like putting the cartoon people with real scenary..but I don't know how many other people like it so I might not do it again.
Were did you get the influence for your comic? I've been meaning to ask you.

Yup.I do work on other stuff when I can. I was working on the fantasy story before I stopped to work more on Space Losers. Now I'm working a little on the other comic.I'm trying to get ahead on Space Losers before I leave for college. I've written the story out past Whichway's introduction. Where do you live stinky? I'm just curious i'm online friends with a girl who lives in Philedelphia. and know people from various other places. I live in Idaho Falls (a.k.a the most boring place on earth) Thats right I come for the state that is only known for a stupid vegtable! No, not everyone in idaho eats potatoes!!! GRAAAAAA!!!

I'm having trouble with one part of my comic. I want something to happen but the only way I can get it to happen seems kinda dumb, and hard to draw. I didn't get much done today. I haven't finished tomorrow's page!
