And then it hits. Disenchanted. Unhappy. Yeah, you could call me that. I just
don't have the drive anymore. At one time I could crank out 5-6 new comics a
week, ensuring that I'd always stay well ahead of my thrice weekly schedule. Then
I slipped and slipped and slipper to the point that I write every ep a day or two
before it goes up. Why? I'm qucking depressed, that's why (Go read the Everything
Jake archives to get the typo). I'd like to argue that dynamic mood shifts are
part and parcel to the creative mind, but I don't have the energy to. So where do
I go from here? Away. Away from cartooning for a bit. I'm taking a month off of
the thrice a week updates. I'll try to spend the first two weeks writing the
conclusion to the Universe 2 storyline. Then I'll take the following two weeks to
try and draw up some panels to go with the pages. After that, Barclay, U.S.A.
will probably go on an extended hiatus. The Universe 3 storyline that was teased
within the serial will have to wait until sometime later. I'm burnt out on
Barclay for the moment. There's a new project slowly forming in the back of my
mind. Yet, it'll probably be a while before it sees the light of day. Why?
Because I plan on making it a full 28 page comic book style project and I want to
take the time needed to do it right, not half-assed. As such, I'll be compiling
reference art, story ideas and drawing books inthe attempt to pull off something
that's presently beyond my abilities. So that's it, I suppose. Barclay, U.S.A.
will tentatively resume on Monday, May 28th, 2001. Here's hoping that I manage to
work though my issues and that somebody actually comes back to read Barclay on
that date. See ya. <P>------------------
