MESSAGE BOARD SCORING SYSTEM

Postby ZOMBIE USER 1674 on Sat Mar 24, 2001 11:39 am

In an attempt to prove I could make a better Sporting league then the NFL, I decided to set up some scoring rules for the forum. Scoring will act sorta like KOOL-AID points, and when you reach levels that I feel are Spifftastic enough, I shall award REALLY SHITTY prizes. The Rules shall always be updated, so things can change. I'm not involved in the game, as I'm the point awarder. Here's the points you can obtain:
--------------------------------------------
POINTS:
1 Point for every post
-2 points for a double post
5 Points if a Post is directly responded to by a FTT
15 Points if a Post is directly responded to by Alan Alda
5 Points for finishing posts with Spling, Whoop or Ploot
10 Points each time you make me laugh
20 Points for suggesting a rule that I like and should add to this list
25 Points if the thing that makes me laugh actually makes sense
50 Points for an obscure Star Wars Reference
25 Points for a blatant Star Wars Reference
75 Points for a Star Wars reference about Wedge Antilles
100 Points if I don't get the Star Wars Reference
50 Points for becoming a minion of the Fourtoon Tellers (only awarded once)
50 Points for Obscure Indiana Jones Referances
25 Points for obvious Indiana Jones Referances
50 Points for Obscure Monty Python and the Holy Grail reference
25 Points for obvious Monty Python and the Holy Grail Reference
-10 Points for saying 'NI'
75 Points for Blatant Carson Worshipping
-10 Points for NOT Cheering for the Leafs
75 points for killing a topic (no response in 3 days)
100 points for killing the board (no posts for three days)
100 points for starting a thread that catches "on fire"
-200 points if 10 of the fifteen posts in an on fire thread are yours
-500 points if all fifteen of the posts are yours<P>100 Points for Fan Art (IHTBTS Related)
125 Points for IHTBTS Guest Strips
250 Points for having any ONE of the Fourtoon Tellers telling you to "Shut Up" on this board
1000 Points for the first Person to know what Bah-weep-graa-naa-weep-ninny-bong means (Except for LostFactor, he knows what it means, I'm sure)
1,000,000 Points if you get me tickets to a Toronto Maple Leaf's Hockey Play off Game<P>That's about it for now. I'm sure I'll think up others as I go along.
I also have the ability to modify point values and award points for just about anything.<P>Reply here only to suggest new rules<P>The Game Begins NOW! (Saturday, March 24, 2:35 pm EST)

Ugh,<P>A scoring system? I dunno, I think the board was wacky and zany enough before...and at least then posts were somewhat relevant and about things...now they all seem so...forced!<P>If, on the off chance that I do incur points, somehow, I'll, erm...give them to Mike...I'm sure he can use all the help he can get in scoring (points.) <P>Yeah, I'm gonna shut up now...*Notes the great applause at that statement and mutters something under his breath about "lather, rinse, repeat!"*<P>-Greggy<p>[This message has been edited by Greggy (edited 03-25-2001).]

25 points for making a Transformers reference
50 points for making a reference that's actually topical
100 points for using a Transformers quote topically<P>Do I get points for being the guy that randomly sprays weaponry at Troutman? Or for being me? <IMG SRC="http://www.keenspace.com/forums/wink.gif">

Those sound good, though I probably won't award the first one that often (i mean, it's a bit easy)<P>100 points for the three rules I will definitely us and because you will spray weaponry at Troutman for making me add that much<P>------------------

I love Carson with nuts.
Yes, and then on to the Oral Sex!
Man I hate sitting behind Luke in this damn ship, harpoon my ass.
I liked Hawkeye better in the the movie, the guy who played him on TV is a pussy. Just kidding, when I blink, my eyelids say 'love you'.<P>As for rules, What also floats in water that is not made of wood? <P>50 points for anybody that comes up with an inventive way to kill Troutman, and then posts it in the middle of some serious thread.<P>

He likes Alan Alda, or atleast pretends he does: 25 points
Obscure Indy reference: 50 points
I like that rule too, so: 100 points

Here's something of interest. The storyline entitled "In confusion there is oppertunity." is actually a Transformers quote.
As for a new rule, anybody who says anything about hairless Buffalos looses 20 points.
No wait. I talked about them twice.
Nevermind that rule... heh heh... ummm...
Boy that Troutman... He's winning good.
What's he winning?
The curtians?
No! Not the curtians!
Oh. Nevermind then.
Mmmm.... brautwurst.
I am Joseph of Arimathea! No I'm not. Oh well.
Toodles.<P>------------------

Gha! Joe's beating me! He's a witch! He turned me into a newt! (I got better.)<P>Not letting me have the 1000 points for Bah Weep Granagh Weep Nini Bong... I'd be mad at you if you weren't so incredibly funny. It's so unfair. Or did you mean the literal translation? I think it means "I will not buy this record, it is scratched" in Klingon, "I seem to have a dingo down my pants" in Hutt-speak, "All your base are belong to us" in Japanese, and "Let the wookie win" in Droid. (Well, what the hell else do you call those beeps R2D2 makes? Pager signals?)<P>10 points for a Zero Wing reference
20 points for a Zero Wing reference that doesn't involve the word "base"
30 points if aforementioned reference is made without taking about bases, Zigs, or great justice
10 points for Eliot Lefebvre worship (Please? Please? ;> )

Two Obscure MPTHG references at 50 Points each: 100 Points
I laughed at that post, it was great, here's 100 Points for that.
200 Points gain!<P>I'd do the Zero Wing rules, but I've never played the bloody game (Thankfully, now)
However, a new rule is inplace: 10 Points for worshiping LostFactor... mwahahaha<P>I'd make up something stupid like 700 points for adding me to ICQ or something, but that'd be stupid, and really unfair to people like Mike who already have me on ICQ.<P>Hmmm... Maybe the next person that can tell me who said "Water, no thanks, fish make love in it." will get 1000 points. Like that?<P>------------------

Well I'll be Lostfactor. What an awesome rule. That rule rules just as you rule the ruling rule. or something. On a non-related note: How many pancakes can you fit into a dog house, if your mother is a washer and your father is a dryer?
Answer: None. Dog houses can't fly.
Am I funny, or what?
We get signal.
Oh wait. This whole post is for nothing. That didn't become a rule.

Why?

A boot to the top, yes, but it's more... much more... than meets the eye.<P>Here's a thought for balancing things out if there will be more than one round to this: at the beginning of each round, players from the previous gains get MINUS their score from the last game divided by two. For example, I have around 3100 points now, so if that doesn't change until the end of the game, then I'll start the next round with -1550 points - I'll need to score at least 1551 points to have a positive score. That way, nobody can easily dominate each and every round, and newbies have a better chance of catching up. Plus, it means even MORE posts as previous champs struggle to get back their points.<P>Anyhow, spling. "It's the ACT I enjoy more than any real nourishment."
