Just read trough the whole archive here on Keenspace, and I noticed that in the 11th Arc, Farrago says that "Someday soon, The Lord will give you another chance on Earth." to Fnar.
Well, when is "soon"? This arc was hot on 13th of December
I think that perhaps Fnar has some role to play in hell before he is reborn, and because of his protection he wont suffer meanwhile. Unless of course something weird happens...
Besides, soon could be a day, a month, a year or a century. Time is relative as they say
