A freidn sent me the url for Jack only today.
Spent 2 hours with my dialup, but I went through the entire archive.
My reaction to this story is:
If it had less to do with sex, especially recently, the story might improve slightly.
Disregarding that, however, this is an exceptional story on te web.
The character of Jack, the tormented Grim Reaper whose crime was so bad only this job was fitting punishment, isn't exactly your maintstream hero, but within the confines of his hated job, he acts with honor, dignity, and strength. He is not an anti-hero, for he is not twisted in any way, just haunted by the horrors of his past and the terrible acts he must watch in the present.
The character of Fnar is the typical innocent, damned to go to hell for no other reason than how he was born. As he is an innocent in hell, he is loved by Jack, as well as most people who meet him.
The title and opening panels of this comic were confusing in a bit, but this only enhances, overall, the quality of this comics story.
The art of teh comic is not its strong point; the story and characters are. But it is in no means lacking in this regard. While sometimes confusing, bloody and gorey, the actual art is fluid, nicely done. After comparing it to a few other things, I rated it to be a 8/10.
My Unsollicited Opinion of Jack rates a 92 out of 100.
Translation: You have a good thing going here. Its better than alot of comics out there, In My Unhumble Opinion.
Keep up the good work.
