He wasn't aborted. He died because his mother was killed.

I personally like Fnar. He is cute funny and completly innocnet. When I first read the comic. I thought he was aborted.
Yet it seems that Fnars mother was aborted. (She was happy to see him) And Jack refuses to let Fnar see his father. Witch only leads me to more questions.
I also have an idea on why his nose is gone.

Its a crazy idea but here it goes. It is stated that hell is all fire and brimstone and sulfer and stuff like that. Sulfer reeks real bad.

so i'm guessing he does not have to smell hell....ok i'm too tired i'll be quiet now.

He thinks about 'cold steel', then 'slipping', then he's gone. I always interpreted that as his mother dying in a botched abortion.

And a few strips later his mother tells him that it wasn't her choice to lose him.

The story as I read it is this: Got into some nasty shit (the bit that got her damned), got knocked up, was forced to abort in a dirty back room somewhere, died.

Thing is...she may have a way out of there as well. Jack says that being a mother to Fnar might have saved her soul...now Fnar's in hell with her, and he apparently spends most of his time with her as well (when he isn't out annoying the talking hat, really annoying Vince, being cuddled by Farrago, delivering letters or generally having fun with Jack). Sounds like an opening to me.

also, we had this disscussion before,pre-Fnar just thinks he wanted, because he exists..if he wasn't then he would be existing...rape isn't in his knowlage...you could want a pie, but if i shoved the pie in your face or down your pants then you won't want it...if you had the choice of getting the pie the way you want it...on a plate then you -want- the pie. no one wants pie in theire pants.

-Fnar's mom's throat was slit.
-Drip wants to live again.
-There was some hinting that "Uncle Jack" was not just a cute pet name.
-In an old thread there was the idea of saving a single child or dooming thousands, Dav admited that this will come into play into a later arc. This could be jack's punishment for saving Silver and the child may be Fnar.
-If Drip IS Fnar's father, and Fnar has not lived and may live again, perhaps Drip will capitalize on this later.

Just a few things that comes to mind, Dav loves being subtle so little things that look inconspicuous speak louder than actions. Then again... what kind of story teller would Dav be if he gave away all the plot twists? He just gives tid bits that keep the masses guessing for weeks until the eventful "Ohhh... now I get it, why didn't I see it sooner!!? >_< " thing kicks in.

I went wrong many times, I've always thought that something else will happen (Like that 'Fnar's important in Silver arc') but I still think that the events around Fnar's death were different.

Slipping = Dieing
Gone = Dead

The one who killed Fnar's mom, didn't kill Fnar himself, because Fnar looked undamaged. Fnar died because his mother has died. And I still think that when Fnar says 'My mother and father want me.', he's right.

Until I'm proven wrong, I'm gonna upgrade my hunch to an official guess that Drip is Fnar's father. It just seems correct, and is twisted enough to work in Jack.

plot twists are good. Dave should make a super gold delux Jack and market it from a web pages, I mean, would you rather buy this or a 25 dollar 18 page comic of a dragon humping an anthro unicorn? Jack has plot, you're buying the plot..not sex art.

Mr. Hopkins mentioned this in a SPOILER message. Read further if you want to be spoiled. Still with me? Central, Jack and Kane were all alive at the same time and possibly crossed paths. Kane has taken on a role similar to the Cigarette Smoking Man in the X-files; a foreshadowing of things to come, if you will. What if it was Kane who is Fnar's dad?

As has been said, Drip is far too obvious. But then again, even if Davud said otherwise, why couldn't it just be another damned soul who is just a wicked, bad individual? Just my thoughts.

If Jack, Central and Kane were alive at the same time, could it be that : Kane envied Jack's wife, Jill so he killed her because he couldn't have her. Jack went on a killing spree and Central killed Jack but died in that effort.
