Talk about being on the edge! I can't wait to see where you're going with this, that's the last thing I was expecting.
Also I notice that she has been in Hell for a while (handles it pretty well though huh?) but she said she was alive when it happened.
So either we're in the future? Or my guess is that Heaven and Hell are somewhat timeless and their time there has no real beginning and end.
------------------

If not that, then they certianly have their own timelines seprate from that of the living world.
Of course, it has been said that time is meaningless in hell, so maybe all this debating of time is meaningless. 100 years in hell, 1,000, 10 hours, what's the diffrence?
I'm wondering how long this whole arc will last though... Not complaining, just curious. I mean, will it follow through a full day, will it stop when the letter is delivered, or is there something else planned?
------------------

When this arc first started, I had figured for sure that Silver (Of course, we didn't know her name yet...) was one of the sins. The first three comics or so had me believing that she would be Pride. Certainly, the way she handled poor Sepka showed alot of arrogance. But later on, when it seemed she was at the beck and call of at least Drip and Vince, I figured she wouldn't be a Sin, since they all seem more or less equals. And besides, Pride would be the least likely to be subservient to anyone else. So I'd decided that Silver wasn't a sin, but that was about it. I figured she was merely a resident of Necropolis with perhaps a bit more authority (punishment?) than most. But now...things are changing. She shows compassion, or at least traces of it. The way she describes Vince's ceremonies, you can tell her distaste for the blasphemies he has the crowd speak at the end. And now, this. She actually fears going towards the tower, a sign of humanity. Even though she fears it, it seems there's still enough humanity in her to want to help out Fnar. Not many of hell's denizens would actually feel that obligated. (Well, Vince /did/ play hide and go seek with Fnar, but that was to get rid of a debt to Jack. I don't think the Sin Greed would want to be under anybody's thumb, no matter the cost.) And now, I might be mistaken, but I swore that Silver shed a tear for the guy who thinks the tower is going to fall again.
A compassionate denizen of Hell who's /not/ a Sin? Why do I get the feeling there's more to her than meets the eye? Even if there isn't, there SHOULD be.
Anyways, I've rambled enough. I'll shut up now.
-For the glory of the Army of Fuzzy Things with Teeth!

Well I think that underneath all the sins are in their own private hell. They are the worst of the worst right?
Evidence of this is apparent in Jack, a man for all we know is a mass murderer. He is horribly distorted and given a job where he must guide the tortured souls to their final destination.
Perhaps Silver is a Sin, or is about to become one. Could what we're reading now be her penance? I really have a feeling she has something to do with the tower that she's paying for now, and she actually visits it more often than she realizes.
------------------

It looks like a day on Silver's afterlife; thus I believe this story will end when she gets home to sleep.
------------------
