One wonders about Eliza. Her body is almost all machine now, all save most of her brain. So shy would her clothing be a big part of her ability to resist temperature extremes?

Or fight? If it came down to it, she could probably ignore it, and it would be torn to ribbons by her cybernetic body.

And then, she'd be naked, or nearly so, and that's hardly bad news.

I could see it affecting her ability to fly, though, her normal body suit probably incorporates part of her wings.

The clothing doesn't provide the level of protection she is used to. In a fight, her options are thus more limited, which she is understandably less than comfortable with.

For the audience, yes , but, depending on the opponent, being naked in the fight may not be helpful.

That's my question, though. Given her line of work, I would think that her mechanical portions would be well-protected anyway, as there are quite a number of things against which a cloth suit cannot fully protect, as a simple result of the flexibility of the material.

Also, she must be very realistic, for people to not notice she's mostly synthetic. Which rules out a great number of defensive possibilities.

We already know she relies heavily on speed, as evident from her tangle with a rather large robot in Rick's son's lab. And that's what makes me wonder, how much worse would the dress be, if it came down to it?

Her complaint might stem from the dress being of no help at all in a fight, while her bodysuit presumably is of some use, so it wouldn't be as good as her normal gear. But still, hardly a crippling impediment, one would think.

But may introduce one. Perhaps her mission clothes are more... supportive? She might think that, without them, she may be thrown off-balance.

"... may be thrown off balance?" Comics and boobs have never combined only to be subjugated to the laws of physics. As a matter of point, boobs and comics are the dominatrix towering over the whimpering and submissive norms of all physical interactions. This duo defies gravity, anatomy, and believability with absolute impunity. No, I think the answer is elsewhere as to what is putting Eliza so ill at ease.

Gravity and momentum are two different things. You may very well be right, but I'm just saying...

Eliza is actually quite well protected even without her armor, but her statements express how much LESS well protected she is without it.

She can fly, but not glide. As we saw in the nulling field, this is potentially significant.

She could survive some pretty violent explosions but her "soft, human parts" wouldn't.

Firing a few bullets at her wouldn't have any chance of killing her, even now. But again, they'd actually go INTO her and do significant damage to her agility and strength much along the lines of what happened to ASCII when she stuck her fingers through him.

And naturally if she wanted to keep that dress from being ripped into shreds, she'd have it even rougher.
