I somehow doubt Allan had that song in mind when he named the dude. In the same way that I doubt Jack of reaper fame was named using that convention.

Jack is named after Jack Nicholson because of his role in "As Good as It Gets" where he plays a surly OCD-afflicted romance novel writer, because that's how I'm picturing him, you know, in my head...

I have more or less intentionally designed Jack to be someone Alex finds intensely annoying to the point of "aw, come ON, he's just BEGGING for me to punch him" in part because Alex will be *forced* to interract with him on a fairly regular basis given his proximity to Pierce, and in part because ~I AM TO BE HAVING SOOO MANY EVIL PLANS~ involving this and other interactions...

he has a point though i rather like Lain as her aggressiveness means i won't have to worry about mixed signals. i just hope that she finds some one that measures up to her standards. i think Alex did but i'm not sure.
