I'd call that more a string of lucky coincidences, and the strangeness of the situation leading to him being more open than usual.

At this stage, kitty-boi doesn't seem to be overly bothered about the idea of keeping secrets, and seems convinced that barging head-first into the potential issues is a good approach (which, to be fair, is not necessarily an idea without merit). Hopefully he will learn to be less dramatic about his relevations, though.
