Bonus Stage: A Boring Webtoon by Matt Wilson
Those are his words, not mine.
Bonus Stage is one of the funniest thing I've seen, so see it. See it a thousand times.
There are currently 84 episodes, with 16 left until the series ends.

I love that show. However, one can only watch a few episodes at a time without it wearing. My advice is to watch maybe three then come back later. If you do that it's pretty awesome.

Yeah, so maybe a thousand is a bit much. Three sounds just about right. At eight seasons of twelve episodes each, and four full length episodes, that'll equate to 36 separate sessions to view the entire series (once it's finished; right now it's more like 30 sessions).

Any other Bonus Stage fans out there?
My favorite character is Joel, much like my favorite Umlaut House character is Volair. I guess I'm just a fan of that specific character type.

I wish I knew what this was all about, *sigh* but all I have at my parent's house is dial-up and that keeps bombing out. Apparently dial-up is as hot here as broadband where I'm living in VA, so the phone lines are often tied up.
So can anyone give me a synopsis as to what this Bonus Stage thingy is?

BIWS Victim?
Basically, they started the thing as two guys sharing an apartment having retarded game related adventures.. most of the episodes are incoherent, spoofy, and otherwise not innovative. The humor is random, more so than monty python.. ebaum's world has comparable things done, to a much lower quality. They kinda evolved characters for several main characters after a while, and recently developed something resembling a plot (In space for no reason, recently shipwrecked somewhere).
I actually haven't watched it for a while. I should sit down and do that sometime.

All fear the RP character from the completely private RP ^_^.
Current psuedonym/RP character count: 25

Thanks Cyril! So this is kind of 'Funday Pawpets' (slapstick, iwn your face humor) meets Shawn Keller's 'Furry Fans' (grotesque, annoying play on fact), with a squeeze of drunken party games? Sounds like something I am curious to see(Hey I'm a pine marten!) but prolly will end up thinking 'Meh, it was funny the first ten seconds and went down hill from there."Cyril_Dran wrote:BIWS Victim?

Micro_fur - "Fun with Dick and Jane" I snickered at the title and died laughing watching it.

Less grotesque, really. It's mostly comical slapstick and satire, with a side of stupid. But it's not retarded stupid, it's "What the hell just happened and why" stupid.

The world of Bonus Stage is actually a virtual world created by the characters of High Score (a more intricate flash series of which Bonus Stage is a spinoff of, it was cancelled after four episodes). This world has its own set of rules, one of which is that is a character dies, then he/she is respawned either immediately or in time for the next episode. The first time this happened (to Joel), Phil and Elly had to rescue him from hell, although now it pretty much just happens automatically.
In case you've tuned out, the show has moved back to Charismaville, and the final storyline is just beginning to take shape.
SPOILER BELOW!!!! (in white, highlight to read.)
Recently, Matt has taken to removing a couple of characters from the show. First came Rya, who was transformed into a human, as opposed to a robot or even a virtual construct of a human, like Joel and Phil were. Unfortunately, she was killed soon after, and since she was a real human to which the Bonus Stage rules don't apply, she's gone for good. Sorry, Cyril. I guess you're a full-time Phil fan now.
Afterwards it was revealed that Jessica originally came from the real world (unwillingly), and she left the show soon after she was told this. It also seems unlikely that she'll return to the show.

Now that I have managed to get some broadband access by doing some white-hat hacking, I saw the stuff and was sadly disappointed. This stuff ranks down there with 'Dumb And Dumberer"; sorry to any of you die-hard fans but in the words of Jay Sherman, "It Stinks!"

I'm not surprised, really. Every series has its detractors. I myself am a dedicated non-fan of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Sorry to all of you diehard fans out there, but it just comes across to me as a watered-down version of Baldur's Gate with the Star Wars license slapped on.Micro_Fur wrote:Now that I have managed to get some broadband access by doing some white-hat hacking, I saw the stuff and was sadly disappointed. Oh, wait. Were you looking at the first and second seasons? Because those episodes really do suck. Try something from later on, possibly episodes 50 or 75.
