We now know the sound a brain makes when it implodes.
Though I wonder... did Cal's brain make the same sound here :

Or is this kind of brain language universe specific?

Dammit, Nyamaza, why'd you link something addictively entertaining without posting a warning! A warning!!! I was supposed to go out about two hours ago.
...
Um, I should stop typing... bye.

While warnings go without mention for ANYTHING involving this forum Andrick, you should focus more on your 'I' statements (i.e. I should have known that anything posted in this forum could be addictive, henceforth I might be late if I am not careful.). This is the kind of Equal Opertunity training we got this weekend because someone was offended by the editorial on our ship's newspaper (the darn thing is only a single 11.5x17 page folded to letter size -> 4 pg.s)
Umm. . .is it just me or did it get cold in here?

*giggle* I'm lucky. I already knew about the comic, and thus have read the archives.
So I'm not going to be late for work.*
*Disclaimer: This is a JOKE. I don't really have THAT little self-control. (Though it's close. It could have happened if we were talking about a class...but not an exam.)

I've been reading DMFA for about two years now, so I don't have to be late either. But this was a great little surprise... there've been all kinds of little jokes about Jyrras (seeing him shirtless in a couple strips, the whole "Dr. Jy"/"Death by Shounen-Ai" thing...), so this revelation is just fanboi-squeal inducing.
And I don't squeal.

Bad lackey! *swipes at, and misses, the fast moving pine marten. The ringwolf puts the rolled up newspaper back in his holster* Pointing out my faults, in public no less; no cookie for you!
*the ringwolf turns back to the discussion* I sorta' imagine that the sounds brains make when they implode, at least for Allan's comics, is the same one introduced by Scott Adams for paradigms shifting without a clutch: pop. It is not very loud or grandiose, but I think the understatment has a greater impact. That and I think it's funnier. *the ringwolf turns his head and sticks his tongue out at a box of venerable libido plushies*

Is it just me, or did they introduce Abel to that strip for the sole purpose of playing counterpoint to Jyrras and Dan?
I saw and began reading that comic shortly after I joined this forum. It's quite amusing, and the author is quite reliable, despite her constant ravings to the contrary. The site is actually linked from Jack, indirectly, due to Amber having drawn little chibis of the characters from that strip, interestingly enough. Check it out; I didn't until recently and regret it now.

Hah, so The Gadlfy does have a weakness! (And a quite peculiar one at that.)
*Sniff, sniff* What's that scent? *The marten dives back into the crate in search of the origin of the delightful smell. He discovers a sealed toffee candy and immediately devours it.* I might not get a cookie from you boss, but I still found something else to eat.
Um, by the way, who let Nyamaza out of the water filled bunker? *The marten saunters over to the bunker and fiddles with the locks and opens the door. His pupils narrow as he is greeted by a wall of water and thinks to himself 'Oh poop!'*
BTW interesting divination as to the initials, though someone who REALLY cared might flip over it as aseemingly heretical juxtaposition of otherwise contradictory terms. (I'm not trying to show of here, every once so often something sparks me to talk or type like this.

Aaaaand yet another thread degrades into furry RP.
Not that I'm complaining or anything.
And there is only ONE WORD to describe Sly Cooper.
DELICIOUS.

I have known about DMFA for a long time too, and did my bout of archive devouring quite a while ago.
I was quite surprised by the revelation that Jyrras has a crush - however slight - on Dan! The "Dr. Jy"/"Death by Shounen-Ai" affair was a piece of fiction written by Wildy San (and Pip), and I never considered that the actual character might have such feelings!

Cyril_Dran wrote:Is it just me, or did they introduce Abel to that strip for the sole purpose of playing counterpoint to Jyrras and Dan?..
Well, that would be the purpose of a literary foil, Cyril. I do think that Abel's portrayal is way over the top as far as "
flaming" is concerned. Jy-Jy and Abba are more equally matched in strengths tahn what their initial encounter may let on... Intentional? I'm willing to lay down money on that. Though it does leave me wondering about Wildie since she has a lot more emotionally invested in Dan than anybody else and vice-versa.
Yes, Micro-Fur, I have weaknesses; I am not some omnipotent being, appearances and pretentions to the contrary. Acronyms are one of my shortcomings. This "VL" you speak of... Venereal Lice? Vanquished Lint? Vulnerable Lymphnode? Vain Letch? Very Looney? What?

Lee!

I have trouble remembering his middle name, though. Englebert? Eberhart? It's more exotic than Edward or Emile.

Searched and found it:
Volair Enricho Lee. VEL

There is one thing I have always wondered about Volair's last name: is there any relation with Lee Microsytems, the company that first hired Jake and where Rick was also working?

*sneaks in to answer before Allan can* I brought that up at one point, and if I remember correctly, yes. Allan had once envisioned something involving Volair's parents and/or the company in a story...but it hasn't happened thus far.
