Awh, jeez; gone through several cycles.

Had a table for a bit; did some good drawing with little or no discomfort. That lasted almost a month. (Longer? Time is hard for me right now.)

But now I'm in moving limbo; my tablet is packed away, as is my scanner. I don't have access to any drawing tools except my sketchbook, and I'm not getting any artwork done lately because I'm rattled by living at home. (All of my family members belong in therapy.)

As for the tendonitis, I'd say things have improved fairly significantly over the summer. At the beginning, my hands were getting close to the point where I would consider myself an invalid; I had to open cans of soda with a pen, and pulling too hard on a doorknob sent a jolt of pain up my arm. At this point, I can almost use my hands with impunity, although they're still not as strong as a normal person's grip. I'm also still a little wary supporting my own weight on my hands, and am not likely to dare trying a push-up any time in the forseeable future.

But I think it's working. I think it's getting better, and I think that if I keep paying attention to ergonomics, getting exercise, and keep my stress levels managable, I may be very close to beating this thing.

Very excited about getting into Unit Zero; I've had some revalations about the plot further along that should make for some genuinely memorable moments, and Unit Zero will, I believe, say some things not often said by science fiction.

That's the design objective, anyway.

Just remember, with Unit Zero, to pick a set of 'physics' and stuck with it, when dealing with Sci-Fi. Expecially when dealing with theoretical physics, it's better to stick with one 'set' of 'anwsers' then to try to incorporate various (and conflicting) thoughts on it. (*cough*ChronoChross*cough*). I look forward to the big wedding picture when you get all moved in (I just finished UH yesterday, I know I'm late, but it was pretty good.)

I intend to use IJD technology on the faster than light drives, and as such extricate myself from the fact that faster than light travel -implies- time travel pretty much no matter how you slice it. Time travel will be "impossible" in Unit Zero, and faster than light travel will be "easy".

How easy? Uhh, Star Wars easy. As in, all you need is a cheap AI and a wookie.

One problem is that I'm using an FTL tech which is easily exploited to build a time phone. Since "hypernet" communications are all talking through small wormholes, if you take a modem on a quick trip in your relativistic rocket ship, you get a time phone. I'm going to pretend that these "holes" are somehow "lodged" into the inertial time frame and leave it at that.

Jeez, FTL makes space opera SO much more complicated...

Extra Dimensional

I like the idea of extradimensional space, like sub/hyper/zero space ect. And I use that 'anwser' for my own games. That way 1) ships don't break 300,000 KpS, while 2) Retaining their abilities to move in space freely. From the PoV of the extradimensional space all points in space are = distance apart (about 10 light minutes in my game, or 100 million miles roughtly) which is sadly, influenced by Animorphs and a very very old CPU game called Rules of Engagement 2, and not 'Wrinkle in Time' which I've never actually read. Again we're not expecting you to exactally explain the FTL engine. Well I'm not. Some trekie might. I know if you could build it, you would, and you'd be a billionaire and not on this webpage talking about it with me, heh. Just, whatever you do, stick with it. Oh, and faster than light travel doesn't neccisary = time travel, it could just mean that if matter moved faster than it it would break down subatomically and become energy. It wouldn't 'lose' mass, but, I'm sure the people onboard would be having a crappy day being turned into plasma and worse.

Arnold's name is actually a reference to Benedict Arnold, although Arnold Rimmer's name is probably ALSO a reference to Benedict Arnold, especially when one considers his middle name is Judas.

Well, if you read Adventurers, which is an excellent webcomic, you know that any party involving Khrima or Karn will have a boggle table or two..
