fweh? o_O
As for before, I can't believe you've never seen
All Your Smurf
I found it because it was on the same page as
How to Draw Yiffy Art (Which is obvious not work safe)
And you probably don't want to know how I found that.

As for
I am the pusher robot.

..Uh oh.
I'm going to have to say fweh too.

:/

Edit: Someone broke those links, got a "what you say?" error.

I think I speak for me when I say

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! It's every third VCL picture I've seen!!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

Yeah, many beginning erotic artists get too interested in, well, the interesting parts of the picture and end up distorting anatomy, having drastic gradients in detail level, and just generally ruining a picture because they forgot to take care of their own needs before doing such things.

...

Not that I'd know...

Woah! I meant to say "somehow I" there, not "someone". I guess that's me unconciously needing to blame someone else for my mistakes.

I refuse to get a LiveJournal as a matter of principle. By now I've forgotten what that principle originally was, but with principles that's never the point.

I guess the closest thing I have is my journal on deviantArt, but I try to keep the personal information to an absolute minimum. That is, I wanted it to be a place for me to provide updates on the progress of my art, although lately it's mostly been devoted to taking bets on how many messages I'll have when I get back from periods of Internetlessness. (Person with the closest guess gets a free drawing! If you have a dA account and are interested, check back next week for the final messagepool of the summer! :P ) I've also got some halfway-decent stuff from a while back in my gallery.

That painfully blatant bit of self-advertisement out of the way, I now feel a need to give something back to the UH community. Although, lacking as I currently am headphones and a guarantee of privacy, I can't watch "How to Draw Yiffy Art," it made me think of this, this, and this. They're hilarious, but be forewarned that if you are a furry artist, a good sense of humor about yourself is absolutely necessary. (It sure was in my case, anyway.) Enjoy!

(Yes, I'm a deviantArt junkie. I know.)

You know, it's funny. I personally have had VERY good experiences with the art I've seen on VCL. The secret, I'll share with you guys... I don't surf the site itself. I surf around the net, find goo artist's websites, and then after seeing what they have there, follow the link to their VCL archive.

Maybe a bit backward of a way to do it, but I've never had to deal with the crap art I hear alot of people complain about VCL, so I must be doing SOMETHIGN right.

Actually, I usually find what I'm looking for.

(Of course, I'm usually looking for porn..)

I love it; especially the expression on his face throughout the process. :D

I've seen all three of 'em before. The furry drinking game rocks the most, though. *falls on the floor drooling*

Indeed.

...although the first one really hit closest to home. "Make the shirt tight, but not so tight that you actually have to worry about proper anatomy."

Proper anatomy is overrated. My torsos are rarely given more thought than "eh, the middle should match up with this hypothetical spine here.."

For breasts, I just go "the chest should get larger here.." Very rarely is an Umlaut House strip drawn by going "okay, rib cage here, breasts here, spinal column there.."

I know what you mean. Fortunately, you don't necessarily have to be able to draw proper anatomy to make a good and/or popular comic. (Dilbert, anyone?) Still, I'd like to know I could if I wanted to... ah well.

What really gives me trouble is drawing hands... they're much harder to fake convincingly than torsos. Hooray for pockets, extra-long sleeves, and close-up shots! :D

I hear you, brother.

Humanoid hands are as difficult to draw as the rest of the figure put together, simply because they are AS COMPLEX as the rest of the figure. Believe me, I practice hands a lot, and look at the mit-fisted beasties I end up putting on my characters!

go take a look at Real Life... i dont think Greg has drawn more then a dozen hand shots in over 5 years :)

And better yet, he makes the comic in Illustrator, so he only really ever had to draw each character once! He is an inspiration to us all.

Mitten-hands are a useful trick indeed. *points to avatar* Of course, I could defend myself by saying that actual fingers wouldn't show up very well at that size... but deep down I know that's not true.

Mittens are a great tool for learning hands. They simplify the job immensely, and don't actively teach you any "bad" lessons.

My thumbs are already pretty good since I've been drawing them all along.

No livejournal here either... if I ever decide to keep a blog, diary, blather-about-myself-for-no-reason page, etc I'll probably put furry stuff on furrysnuggles.net or huggles.org, and plain boring stuff on randyg.org... (none of which I've put a site up on yet)

To prevent my personal life spilling out all over the forum, which is something that other peoples doing really annoys me, I figured I'd do some thread necromancy of my own. I'm sure there are a few members that could add there journal here anyway. To read my private posts you'll have to have a LJ to add me as a friend though.
