Here it is

Post by Maximuscoolman »

I said before that I may do some fan art in the future, the truth is I wanted to some fanart after I'd learnt to draw, before the comic ended. Because I'm of my procrastinating, I never learnt to draw, and now the comic is ending so I'm afraid i have no style of my own and I just copied Allan's, but hey, it's a good style and it's the thought that counts right?
Anyway, here it is:

Yeah, I think the picture would have been better if Saundra was the Ferengi too...
If it's not clear, Jake is supposed to be wearing one of those little dresses the female officers wore in the original series, like Volair is here (it's pretty much based around that so I can't take any credit for the idea...)
My scanner cut the top of Volair's ear off :( I'm sure that would hurt like hell being a Ferengi.

Edit: Here are some amusing rules of acquisition that may or may not apply to Volair.

This looks a world of better:

Not only have I done it up with colour and everything but I gave Saundra her hair (although that could have turned out better) and i gave Jake a mouth which I think just makes his expression.
I also put Jake in the forground like he was meant to be to begin with but I forgot to draw it that way which makes the context better.

Drawing in someone elses style is like playing musical covers: you may not want to do it forever, but it's a good way to learn the basics and see where your range falls.

All the characters are recognizable and in character. It's a good start (and a lot more than many of us can do).

If you don't get it, Ferengi's ears are errogonous zones.

Man, nobody should miss out on the Farengi!

They are, in my humble opinion, actually a more fun and well-thought-out race than either the Klingons or the Vulcans.

Also, I think Deep Space Nine is sufficiently different from the other Star Trek series to be worth a look even to non-fans.
