A word of explanation is probably in order here.
I suck at updating pages.
There are many factors contributing to my suckage in this department, but the most important factor is probably that updating pages feels suspiciously like work, a thing of which I have a very short supply. Since I need the work to do things like design amplifiers for scanning antennas, I tend to shy away from updating my website.
Another big one is that I'm always on the move, and my hotmail account recently sank beneath the flaming ocean of brimstone and sulfur that is Microsoft's idea of "free internet services". Because I switch computers frequently, and because my hotmail account was generally overflowing thanks to my digital packratism, I ended up with fanart strewn about a half-dozen computers, and updating the fanart page from that situation was even MORE like work.
To make matters worse, I haven't responded to even half of the fan mail I get, a source of incredible guilt for me. I fight that off by thinking, hey, this comic is a hobby, and people will understand if I suck at responding to email.
(If anyone's read Dan Shive's explanation as to why he doesn't respond to fan mail, my answer is nearly identical.)
I'm going to do some form of site update after my last deadline this quarter, which by pure coincidence happens just after the last strip.
Of course, it won't be the last UPDATE.
