Help on FurryMUCK

Post by BrainchildJeff »

Hey, I've been trying to get on the muck for a couple days now, I went to furry.com to connect, clicked the link that brought up telnet, and got to the intro screen. I realize that I have to register and all that but either me or my computer is being stupid. I can't type anything in the muck window. The cursor is there and is flashing but I can't type. Does anyone have any advice?

Go download MudSock! I forgot the URL, but I'm pretty sure you can do a search. MudSock is freeware, and it actually DEFAULTS to furryMUCK. Chalks away!

Telnet *really* sucks for using the MUCK, not just because it's difficult, but because the damn thing won't let you see your text as you type. The MUCK also lets you keep logs. I have logs of just about all the time I've ever spent on the MUCK, just for reference.

For example: the FurryMUCK "favorite things" song:

raindrops on hoses and whiskers on vixens,
Bright copper handcuffs and warm woollen linens...
Brown and red vixens all tied up with string,
These are a few of my favorite things!
When the DB saves, when the MUCK lags,
When I'm feeling saaaaaaaad,
I simply remember my favorite things, then RL doesn't seem... soooo baaaaaaaaaaaaaad...

See? Keeping reccords is a good thing!

Now, now, haven't you ever seen "The Sound of Music"?

Of COURSE I've seen that. Heck, I played a Nazi when my high school did it as the yearly musical my sophmore year.

I was more referring to all the "suggestive" material in your song. I personally normally think of Taps when I think of yiffing on a muck (which I'm not advocating against at ALL 8;) ) I think of Taps, while Furrymuck is basically for everything else. At east that's how I RP on them.

Ah. Somehow I thought you had erroneously put the lines of the song to "Taps", that somber horn dirge from the military.

Boy do I feel sheepish.

(And keep any itchy yiff puns out of your minds, you lot.)

Hey, all that'd leave is images of Voltair and Rick... hmm, that might not be so bad after all...
