THIS IS A TEST OF THE EMERGENCY FANBOY SQUEAL SYSTEM.

IF THIS WAS AN ACTUAL FANBOY EMERGENCY, THE FANBOY SQUEAL WOULD BE FOLLOWED BY INSTRUCTIONS ON JUST WHAT TO DO TO THE NEAREST FANBOY. THIS IS ONLY A TEST.

Ouch, big burly, mean ol' Rick.:(
*Brain goes:SNAP*
I'm not sure what was more painful; the bad inuendo or the Rick's deluded laughter.

Some guys have no style at all! Although, I think that he is maybe trying a bit too hard. Could it be that Rick is actually jealous?...

It is a rather jarring character shift for Rick; this is the third time Poop has done some freaky-weird shi-stuff with character portrayal. I'm still off-balance from the Duma/Colin violence being canon to the story and now this cartoonish portrayal of Rick... I have no words; it's just too surreal. All it does is paint Rick as a sadist, which isn't how we've been introduced to him or gotten to know the big wolf. All of Jeff-Kun's strips have a steady pace and subtlety which is suddenly wrenched into the highest gear at full throttle whenever Poop does one of his strips. Very jarring, to say the least...

Possibly, this maniacal shift in Rick's personality has to do with the sudden change in everyone he knows and spends time with from being straight as an arrow to suddenly either bi or queer. He's probably feeling isolated, angered, possibly paranoid that everyone he knows is decieving him, and is rebounding by lashing out at those who have "hurt" him.

I'm sure you all know the feeling of being "alone" right after you realize you're the only gay person you're close to... He's probably getting the inverse of that.

I thought about the "hurt" angle for Rick and it still doesn't jive with the head-thrown-back, villianous laughing at the end of that strip nor the gleeful malice showing on his face when he is saying words obviously meant to hurt. It's obvious that Rick felt he was decieved by Colin. But even in that Rick didn't seperate himself from Colin and make him out to be an enemy. I mean, he's talking to Taro about what was currently going on with Colin... until Taro popped a boner and ruined the moment. Rick seemed more in a state of disbelief and chagrin over both Colin and Taro.

From Rick's point of view, Colin did betray him. Colin never let on that he had a sexual preference for males prior in their friendship, Colin never uttered a word of dissent when Rick hooked the fox up with his sister, and it wasn't until the fox was in a funk over the 'coon that Rick finally finds out. It would also be fair to say that Rick is conflicted. Rick thought very highly of Colin given the fact that the wolf introduced Becky to him. Isabel Marks beautifully summed up such feelings in "Namir Dieter," though that kind of conversation never comes up between guys... at least not so eloquent... or calm.

So, no, I'm not buying it.

According to Jeff-kun's letter with the last update, he has scripts in advance for the guest comics that get done. It's obvious that each artist puts some of their own spin on it, so the question becomes, how much of this did Jeff have coming to begin with, and how much is Poop just adding in.

*shrugs*

I think it's fine either way.

- Jarylan, not sure if any of this information is really relevant, but likes the sound of his own keyboard.

To answer your question, I write the dialog and split it into panels, and describe in a very general sense what's happening. Then the artist draws it how they want to. I make up the situation and dialog. Poses, facial expressions, and composition are Poop's.

Ah, but what you say is exactly what I was getting at, Andrick. Rick's feeling hurt about the whole thing, and wants to hurt the others in retribution. Alternately, he might have been trying to laugh the whole thing off, and did so a little too overbearingly and oafishly, making an ass of himself. I know because I've done that kind of thing before, although not quite so poorly... he might have been so caught up in his charade that he didn't notice they had left in the 3rd panel. He seemed kinda detached from the whole situation.

I was going to post something. When I read what Jeff-Kun wrote, I studied the comic for nearly an hour. I find I don't have one cohesive thought about this. Not one.

Almost had one of those moments not too long ago. Despite Taro's initial shock to his own slip of tounge he doesn't seem to have the 'OMG I WANNA DIE' expression, more like 'OOPS, DID I REALLY JUST SAY THAT? I HOPE HE WASN"T PAYING ATTENTION!'
