Is it just me or is Millie's mom head-over-heels take-me-now in love with Lewellyn?

Well speaking as one who has all three books and reads it every day... Definitely.

Look at today's strip, I mean, dood.

The body language is almost as bad as the first Jake/Rick interaction.

Okay, so it's not THAT bad...

But it's kinda close, which is TOTALLY disturbing.

Not to mention the way she holds her shoulders, or the way her hand is subliminally creeping toward him.

Yipe.

There was a comic a long while ago in which Lewellyn and Ms. Mudd went to dinner, and she was describing to herself how perfect he was. For what it is worth, I think this qualifies as full blown UST, and being Ozy and Millie it won't be really touched upon other than this in the strip. Somehow I just don't see David taking it too far.

(edit) spelling... (/edit)

Right. It would be nice if it were...in any other strip. But such things just don't fit in the world of Ozy and Millie.

Now if there were a separate, sub-strip called something like "Llewellyn and Mudd," then it could be created to fit such scenarios, and be set in the same universe and continuity as Ozy and Millie. But for the main strip, it just doesn't fit the general ambience, so we would be cruel to insist on it. Far better to hold back until the time is right. Patience will be rewarded. (We hope.)

Well, OBVIOUSLY we won't see any on-screen resolution to the UST, but David Simpson does like going out on a limb every now and then, and I wouldn't put it passed him to try dealing with that difficult situation of integrating a household when there are already children involved. It'd be handled very, very strangely, probably with Lewellyn filling in a pause in the conversation with

L: Yes, Joan d'Arc was certainly a woman I admired. She will be missed.
M: Mm-hmm.
L: Well, do you suppose we should get married this afternoon or not? It seems a good day for it.
M: -spit take on Mudd's part-
L: Ah! That's the exact same reaction Joan had!

As you can see, this CAN be resolved inside the O&M universe. We just can't do it the way Eric Schwartz or Sandra Delete would.

Yes, but that would make for one hell of a funny strip.

I'd do it myself, but that'd probably perturb DS to no end.

But then again, I HAVE decided to be his arch-nemesis...

Nah. If I'm going to secure my position as the Lord of Nice, I have to be more polite than that.
