I know all about crappy handwriting, and spelling and grammar for that matter, but what I do for my comic is use a nice hand writting font. you can find many of these free for download after doing a quick search I came up with

I think the second one has fonts that would match your comic a little better <IMG SRC="http://www.keenspace.com/forums/smile.gif">
The handwriting print fonts are easy to read, and give those of us with bad handwritting a way to give the comic a warmer feeling<P>------------------
