Er, got to ask a question about copyrighting...

OK, so, let's say you were to have a sketchpad. If you signed the inside cover and wrote something like "Everything in this sketchbook is copyrighted to so and so on such and such a date and may not be reproduced or copied etc." Would you still need to sign every particular drawing?

if the cover was ripped off & trashed, that wouldn't help the rest of the sketches...

i don't see why you'd need to copyright a sketchbook. are you publishing it or something, so that people would have the opportunity to rip it off?

Well, I'm working on a webcomic that I hope to debut before summer, and most of the pictures in that sketchpad are character design or actual strips. I'm not sure how strict I need to be about copyrighting. I've been ripped off before, and it's not pleasant, but things were worked out.

yeah it can suck when people steal ideas and shit. but it's not always a big deal. like, my friend's cartoons are often imitations of my own.
