as for the state of 'girly'ness...really is in the eye o' thou watching. A purse is a handbag is a contaner for items too large to stuff inyer pockets...of course...I try to fit everything in my pockets, much to the dismay of innocent people asking for change

I am referring to the guys that are only there to party. I'm not looking to offend anyone, it was that way when I went and I'm sure it hasn't changed. I guess they irritate me because I was the one that girls that got hurt by them ran to 'cause I was (am?) a "nice guy".

The rest of them are pushing themselves for their education and are too pre-occupied to socialize. Most are too shy to talk to a pretty girl.

Correction: talk to a girl about non-class matters. (Still a last resort, I suppose.)

Sorry if I seem cynical, I guess I'm just a non-conformist at heart. :wink:

I am in the interesting position, personality-wise, of being both agressive and submissive at the same time. I am a leader, but I LIKE being told what to do, in most situations. The exceptions are mostly in the areas of art and personal beliefs. I CAN do things for myself, but I get worked up when I have to make decisions on how to proceed (a typical female predisposition).

So... I'm full of contradictions. yes.

another contradiction: I like to be left alone about what I do or think, but I like attention. I would even like it if people gossipped about me, because I would feel like the center of attention. But at the same time, I don't really feel qualified to be in the spotlight.

Also, I'm a conservative, but I dress in what many conservatives would consider to be a "liberal" manner. (I'm modest, but... different.)

I'm an artist, but art annoys me to no end.

And in the words of Anberlin:

I, as well as some of my friends, were shy around girls that we liked no matter what the topic.

*looks over Glor's latest post, and grins* sounds alot like what I do *looks over at Sheepdog* not that'd *I* be one to consiter myself normal..but I guess....normal is all in who's eyes yer gazin' out of at the time....
of course I get panicky, no matter what I do, cuz even if I don't think I care what other people think- I often find myself spinning in a fur-or hair...-ripping circle over how I'll probably get interpretted..bleg- love me, love my paraniod insecurities....or something like that....><

hmm, I suppose I managed to brainwash myself that I shouldn't "hunt" for a GF after being embarrased in such a way in Jr. high. I ran across a girl in one university course (Operating Systems Infrastructure), and we started comparing notes, and eventually started talking abotu ReBoot (CGI TV show) and became friends from there.

That came after realizing that Men don't understand feelings all that well. And of course after ST:TNG Episodes "Unification I and II". It made me realize that Men (or most men, because I have met some emotional men) are usually like Spock. Very Logical, and don't understand why women are emotional, and not logical. Women on the other hand are like Commander Sella. Some can be coniving, others very emotional, and men just don't understand why we can cry and not be sad (or understand our motives).

This realization has actually helped me understand my fiance (Eric) better...

**Sidenote- Yeah, I'd categorize myself as a feminist. I am also a Christain. I oppose abortion. I am not one of those crazy radicals. I just don't believe in females being treated like subhumans. The term 'feminist' has gotten a bad rep, I just wanted to make it clear that we aren't all extreme militant leftist nuts.**
