Ironic that you should post that, Andrick...
*sighs* Sometimes it's hard to read into what people really mean by their posts, whether they're really sniping or trying to be humorous, especially when you don't know anything about them... Our station advisor once told me that in radio, you lose 50% of your effective ability to communicate, because no one can see your body language. He said that you had to compensate by making your speech unambiguous and putting more emotion into your words.
And I think the effect is even more pronounced here online, where there aren't even any vocal timbres or inflections to indicate emotion or convey meaning... What might be said with a smile and taken as a light-hearted joke in real life can become a cold insult when only expressed in ten-point text.
I know that some of us here on the board run around saying pretty mean things about each other, like Joey and I have been doing to Rico... but we talk to him, we know him, and it's (hopefully) all done for the fun. I don't really mind getting roasted and being flamed to a crisp by Rico (which is usually the outcome when I make trouble with him), 'cause I know he's joking around and he's put up with a lot of stuff Joey and I dump on him. : ) But when you don't know someone, don't know their personality or motivations, it's harder to make that judgement or to take a ribbing from them....
So I apologize if my words above seem harsh, Andrick... I didn't intend for them to sound mean. Try to imagine them being said with a slightly sarcastic, slightly goofy grin and a lighthearted tone of voice.
