A picture for Lag and Devon's attempt for a static gun post.

Post by Ironpaw »

Okay, here's my pitiful attempt to spark another gun discussion and also show off some cool pics. Again.

This is shameless, aye, but oh well. Anyone able to indentify the equipment that is in these grainy images of me from years ago?

Image

I know, I'm shameless, but it's late, so... bleh. And Joey's not here to complain, so I should have some video clips of me destroying kazoos by the millions in a few days.

Okay, I'm not an expert, but I do believe that the rifle being held in the two lower pictures is a variant of the M-16/AR-15 family, the forestock, carry handle, and receiver look familiar... and the buttstock looks like that of an M4 carbine... I don't recognize the muzzle of the pistol, but I think that it is NOT an HK USP...

Now, to add the meaningless drivel I promised last night, Devon, see if you can correctly identify THIS gun:

Image
I'll give you a hint: It's made in Germany, the ammunition is standard 5mm HDPE rod, and it has a muzzle/shoe velocity of about 6ips (inches per second) at a sustained 480F.

Ahhh, a name the stuff thread! Intuiging.

Let's see... Well, those pictures aren't exactly top quality, not that that'd help with my crappy knowledge, but I'll give it a shot (groan)! 9.9

First off, your lid; US 90's Helmet with Desert Camo I'm guessing, however I thought they had Chin Straps so it could be earlier o.O
US is definetly *not* my forte but it looks pretty similar to the Gulf War photos so I'm assuming the rest of the kit's US. And so that would mean ALICE webbing in Desert camo if you're continuing the Yanky theme, not my favourite webbing at all... Err, and I'm assuming desert simply because it's got that dual tone, one bright one dark.

Now for the fun part! Guns! The pistol photo doesn't have the most helpful angle and I notice you know your gun rules, bravo ^.^
So, let's see, looks like, humm... First I thought a Colt, the front has the very distinct shape of the old gun, but... Hummm, there's a few anomalies...
Could be a Beretta... The ejection port seems to be pretty long (that angle really doesn't help 9.9 ) and the safety switch in the right place, which the Colt definetly doesn't have... But darn! Why did you have to cover the trigger guard with your finger! >.<

That pistol has me stumped... Could it be a Tac Master?

And finally for the old Armalite! Complete assumption; I'm guessing a Bushmaster XM variety, the Barrel's far too long for an M4 and M4's aren't exactly easy to come across, but who knows, I've been surprised enough in my life time! Oh, and handy dandy Duct Tape for the two mags strapped together, that's what I use anyway ^.^

Nice kit! Now if only I had an income to get my 1943 Heer uniform sorted out... 9.9

Thanks. Say, do you think you could find the keys to these handcuffs? I think Devon has them...

Right about the helmet. The camo, however, is standard US Woodland as seen through an infrared scope, hence the colour and quality..

I'm actually just wearing a class IIA vest and trauma plate beneath a standard class IA flak vest with a standard us Tactical operations vest over that. The alice rigging is not on ATM. What setup do you prefer with your webbing? Russian? German?
LAGtheNoggin wrote: Now for the fun part! Guns!
Dang straight!
LAGtheNoggin wrote: The pistol photo doesn't have the most helpful angle and I notice you know your gun rules, bravo ^.^

Born, bred and trained on em, yup! The screenshots were taken off the video over a year ago, for a different reason, so... sorry for the angle.

Um... Very close with the Colt considering. And the Tac Master is the Mauri equiv of... the Beretta M9/I.E. 92F? All things considered, that's prolly the closest I could come too. It's a S&W 4506. A .45 LAPD police trade in I got ahold of through certain channels I'm involved with. Got it for a STEAL and I love that stainless...

Now I'm impressed. Dead on. Bushmaster XM shorty, with the AK74 muzzle break upper receiver and an armalite preban lower.

Lag. If I could express to you how badly I want that exact kit you're getting together. *shivers* It's up there with the top stuff I want. Up there with an MP5 for gosh sakes! No matter my arsenaul, I still envy you.
: )

I wonder if I can dredge up some more "what are they?" pics for you if you're interested?

*grins*

*cracks up* Sorry, Tobi, but as you can see, I don't have an unlicensed particle accelerator on my back, just a 5000 watt generator down the road... And Mongoose, the leafblower bit is surprisingly accurate-- the green thing on top is a hot air gun, and blows out in front of the shoe...

Now I really must apologize for polluting such a fine, upstanding thread with this sort of goofy, tantengial stuff... *looks up at some of the previous posts*

What I am holding is a U-2 extrusion welder, or, also know as a Bender, because for some reason the manufacturer put the name DR. BENDER in inch-high letters on the serial plate... Basic explanation: It's a giant hot-glue gun that uses plastic. [/quote]
