Article away!

Post by ZOMBIE USER 10925 »

Hello folks, I have just completed and submitted a 11,000+ word article for a sci-fi magazine and and praying it's accepted.

After a typical edit of 20%, the pay is 0.06$usd per word.

I'd appreciate a few prayers as any income right now would be useful! :)

Hey, good luck. Everybody needs some extra. Incidently, I too am working on being published, and I know how much time is spent holding one's breath. So, even if you don't get in, send it other places. there is no single key! Yeah, and more good luck...I'll just heap it on here.

Beth

Thanks, but it's kind of audience specific. I've aimed it at the readers of http://jtas.sjgames.com

I've had a lot of positive feedback from the other readers I know, so here's hoping...

Say, can you summarize your article?
I'm curious what it is about. :)

Well, it's a treatise on robotic arms (and to a lesser extent, robots in general) and their present, past, and future uses.

It starts with the section 1. "Up in Arms", about industrial revolution, and data backup jukeboxes,

2. Long Arm of the Law
- bomb disposal, search and rescue

3. At Arm's Length (or Truth can be Stranger than Fiction)
This section started the whole thing, and here, I described robotic arms in easy terms, and talked about uses, including the Shuttle's CanadArm and the ISS's CanadArm2 (which is an odd beast, indeed!), to future cargo handling uses.

4. Arms Race
Here, I described how space jousting might work out.

5. Armed to the Teeth
Described popular weapons to attach to the end of arms (for evil robots), including circular saws, lasers

6. In Arms' Way
Here I describe the typical parts of an arm, and how they take damage.

7. Armistice
Surveilance beyond simple cameras

8. Arm in Arm
cybernetic arms and legs

9. The Right to Bear Arms
legal issues, and different governments.

First, there's a verbose section for each, a "technical" section for each, and a section for application for each...
