But then what happens to the old one?

No, there'll be a huge outpouring of public support, and it'll become the centerpiece of a nostalgia-based marketing campaign that will end the "Thread vs. String" wars forever, or until String comes up with a hip product that is squarely aimed at the 14-28 demographic.
