Gloria, you are sooo the copykitty. You stole that July 16 comic right off the Matrix! I should know- I saivng my babysitting money so I can buy it. I can quote large parts at a time. Watch-(Not in chronological movie order)
Morpheus:"Have you ever had a dream, Neo, so real that you swear you were awake? What if you weren't able to wake from that dream? How would you know what was the real world and what was the dream world?"
Apox:"Got a signal. Almost there.."
Morpheus:"Hurry!"
Apox"Got it! Lock!"
Neo:"AHHHHH(into digital phone-y sounds)"
NEXT QUOTE:
Trinity:"Helo, Neo."
Neo:"How do you know that name?"
Trinity:"I know a lot about you, Neo."
Neo:"Who are you?"
Trinity:"My name is Trinity."
Neo:"Trinity? The Trinity? God...."
Trinity"What?"
Neo"I thought -I thought you were a guy."
trinity"Most guys do."
Trinity:" I know who you are Neo. I know what you are and what you're doing.I know why you live alone, why you eat alone, and why you sit at your computer, night after night, trying to find the answer. I was once searching for the same thing, the same question, and when I found it, he told me that it wasn't really the answer I was looking for, it was freedom. And you know what I'm talking about Neo. You know that question."
Neo: "What is the Matrix?"
You, Gloria, you took the part where Cyber sold the Agents Morpheus and Agent Smith just got finished "talking to Morpheus." Now, while that was happening, (the awesome divinge coolness that is) Trinity and Neo blew up the elevator after the awesome lobby gunfight and therefore caused a fire. DUH! Well, it exploded said lobby and evevator shaft, while the sprinklers went off and did something to make the ear things the Agents are wearing short circuit or something. ANYWAYS.... That's the part you took.
sorry if I rambled too much! Can you tell i love the Matrix?

Is it similar to the Matrix? Yes. Could she have been somewhat inspired by it? Yes. Did she copy it? No. I'd say this is definitely not exactly like the Matrix.

That's what I immediately thought, too!
http://www.irc.at/~flo/matrix/specials/ ... matrix.txt
INT. PRESIDENTIAL SUITE (MATRIX) - DAY
An enormous EXPLOSION THUNDERS above them, shaking the building. The ALARM SOUNDS, emergency sprinklers begin showering the room.
Agent Smith smashes a table.
AGENT SMITH
Find them and destroy them!
( I don't remember him breaking a table in the movie, though)

Nope! Been done plenty of times before Matrix! I just can't think of any off the top of my head! ::wonders if there was something like that in a Father Ted episode::
Seeming Matrix Parallels

: ) Let my pose a little hypothetical question:
When, in the history of Untitled! has ANYTHING turned out to be mundane, over done, or for that matter when has anything BEEN what it appeared to be?
Secondly, after years of establishing our well loved cast, we are now beginning to see the resolution (and complication) of many long standing developments. Perhaps *nudge nudge* this is only the beginning?
That is all.

*snickers* Oh, and another thing. I may be wrong, but I don't think Gloria's ever SEEN the Matrix.
My opinion of the movie:
Overall: Good movie! Not worthy of worship.
Biggest downfall: Keanau "I can ACT!" Reeves
Biggest plus: Best hotel lobby shootout scene ever.
Biggest nitpick: Many. But the one shot in the lobby where he's firing a 9mm smg and it immediatly cuts to a bunch of .223 brass hitting the floor.
Ok, that was pointless.
Again, carry on. (it's 3am and all my chat partners are gone, what do you want? CRASH COME HOME!)

Well, you know what they say. . .there's nothing new under the sun.
I get nit-picky with art history errors. My art history teacher would be proud.
Rock on.

The movie Hackers comes to mind with sprinkler scenes. Aliens but that is not quite what you were talking about... I dont think any of the Father Ted episodes I have on DVD have a scene like that.

This isn't a nitpick or technical error report about The Matrix, but a conceptual idea that would have ROCKED had it made it into the movie. They seriously missed the boat here.
In the lobby scene, they kill everything, and get in the elevator. In the lobby, amongst the dead corpses, a column panel falls off and lands on the floor with a crash. What would have been cool is if the falling panel had made no noise.
Think about it. That woulda added one more notch of sophistication to the movie.

I think that's thinking a little too far into it. I thought the falling panel was great as it was.

Kinda like that Miami Vice episode where there weren't any gunshots, but you could hear the bullet casings falling to the ground, which they redubbed later because they had too many people writing in and complaining that they had forgotten the sound effects?
Now that I think about it.....maybe they
did forget the sound effects!
Oops! I'm dating myself again! ::quick attempt at a recovery:: Hoobastank rawks!

Yeah!
Hoobastank! They opened for Incubus during a recent European tour. Through some strange bit of fate, I know the drummer.

Wow! That is so incredible, that I'm going to try passing that tid bit on to them and see what I get back! They are quite busy at the moment from what I've heard though. They just played Melbourne and Sydney this past weekend!
