Ok. Here's a quick bit: My second submission to this wallpaper "contest" if you will, of which Simon already has a good lead on me. : )

I'm trying to go a different route with these, being that I don't want to simply be copying Simon's comic comp/lyrics idea.
Um... I'm really proud of the moon and night sky I made (yes, I made it all from scratch!) But I can't really get the drawing/background to integrate well... huh.
Still quite nice...

Anyway, here you go.

Untitled!-- It's a comic strip. No. Really!
And yes, I admit, I stole this sig code directly from Crash, with him standing here so if it doesn't work it's his fault.

Heeeey. Niiiice.

By the way, feel free to steal my comic/lyrics idea if the inspiration hits you. I just find it's easier (and more effective) to mix lyrics that have emotional meaning with images that have emotional meaning.

Then again, I am a writer/poet first, and a graphic artist and musician sadly around sixth or seventh, but I'm working on that.

Speaking of writing, this has nothing to do with the contest, but if Devon can post pictures of him taken in IR, I can do this, so nyah. I've posted teaser titles of chapters five through seven of Spirits of Blue, and I'll be posting chapters four and five as soon as I get the second draft back from my instructor and have time to do some revising. Should be this weekend. (And, Simplicity, if you see this, YES, I am working on my nifty page of links. I'll try to get it done for the weekend as well. Really. I mean it this time.)

Here's your warning, Devon. I'm making another one.

And I'm ungratefully stealing a page from you in that I'm departing from my normal routine of matching song lyrics to images, and instead I've done a bit of 3D rendering to match the image. (The image I'm using, by the way, is twmach3.jpg from Gloria's yerf archive...man, that was a pain to transparentize.)

It's a bit of a dark image (the background colour is black, not the usual white)... if I could draw properly, I'd reuse the same background for an image of my own. Bleh.

You've been warned.

You guys really do take the time to appreciate a comic strip that you guys enjoy and that makes these desktops all the more coolies!

Devon I love your sky! Its a perfect choice of pics too I think because the itensity of the sky reflects the intensity of Twaps and Xe's mood!

Elix I can't wait for your next one! And I can't wait for the next chapters of Blue! You go!

Have a nice weekend multimedia magicians! Ya rewl!

Me *^.^*

This woulda been up nearly six hours ago, but keenspace's forums were not liking me.

Here it is. Only the Light...

So, yeah.

Also, I got bored Monday and drew this. Um, stuff. I hope Gloria doesn't shoot me. I've got another one but the scanners don't like me so I have to rescan it, like, tomorrow or something.

Your turn, Devon.

*sees the 3D and freaks*

Umm... um... um...

*wipes brow*
Can't and never even TRIED to do ANY 3D... heh... you have my admiration there.

*head drops and Ironpaw passes out for 5 minutes or so*

*wakes up and wonders frantically where he is*

Sorry... they've been working me into the ground of late. I got 3 hours of sleep last night and I have to get up at 5:30 tomorrow morning. Haven't had too much time to work on this, with all the other projects I've been working on. Perhaps I'll ink and colour something of Glor's (with her permission of course)

Heehee! That Bob comic made me laugh!

And love the 3D in that one... Niffy! It kinda makes Twap look rather poorly drawn in comparison, though. Heh. Nice job!!!

*pokes the unconscious Ironpaw* Buddy, you okay? *poke poke*

Hey, don't feel intimidated by the 3D I did. I could have easily done that just in photoshop, now that I think of it... (but I want to learn how to do 3d stuff anyway)

However...being run ragged is an acceptable alibi on why you haven't been cranking out the wallpaper. For now. (Actually, I've been doing that kind of to the exclusion of things I've supposed to have done..oops...)

Glad you liked that, Gloria. I wasn't sure how it'd be received. Like I said, I've got another one. And, I think that Twap looks fine in the 3D picture. I spent a lot of time transparentizing the background (which was NOT easy), so that it'd fit. Also, her shadow was kind of tricky to do. I think that, if Twap wasn't there (ie, it was all 3D), it'd look too artificial. A hand-drawn Twap lends some "human-ness" (izzat a word?) to the image.

And hopefully I'll have the second Bob strip I drew up. (The lettering is my own handwriting, by the way. Well, the title was different...that was VERY messy to do. I was using a pen nib in my fingers...no pen holder.)

Heh, I don't think aNYBODY can make a bigger mess with india ink than I have. I'm always splattering, spilling, smearing, dripping, wiping, etc., the darn stuff all over my desk and all over whatever artwork I'm working on... yes.

Keep up the good work!

Well, I try to be tidy when using ink. But I certainly could try to do worse than you. (Don't make me ink my hair. Really. I mean it. )

I couldn't get the other nib out of the pen-holder, so I held the nib in my fingers and got a LOT of ink on my hands. (I used a flexible nib for the vertical lines and the title lettering. It's tricky to get used to.)

Oh my Geez. This is really good,ok? Listen- my French class is doing these %(^%%$!! pop-up books. I'm going to use the Xe and Twap pic, ok? I just have to use it somehow.. It's captivating.. so pretty.. And if I can't use it for my pop-up I'll use for a collage..
