On the assumption that people actually care.

Well, the teeth came out easy. Top two just kinda popped out. One of my bottom teeth was a little trickier to get out. The other one was a BEAST. It took half an hour to get it out...I had to ask for more anesthesia for that area because I was almost weeping from pain.

But I'm okay now. The swelling's minimal, pain is more of an annoyance than actual pain (think dull throbbing headache just as the asprin kicks in)... just gotta be careful about what and how I eat. The sedative's mostly worn off, but I expect to sleep very well tonight.

On other, less gruesome, things... I've completed the initial draft of chapters 4 and 5 of Spirits of Blue. However, because I needed to come up with a few names in quick order for minor characters, I ungratefully stole from Untitled! and the board. So now I'm asking permission, before it goes on the net...

Gloria, I made reference to a sage who wrote a rather boring essay...and the first name that fit was Keer. Is this okay? ("Keer" is also kinda biased, and I'm not too nice or sympathetic about his work in the narration.) Also, I needed a name for a teacher (who is not boring and biased, and is also actually living), so I chose "Phasia." This kosher, or do I need changing?

Ironpaw, I tagged you, too. In Chapter 5, there's a reference made to a boy named Davon. I'm more asking out of courtesy than out of copyright-related issues. Izzis okay?

I should point that I've simply appropriated names. The characters I'm creating have nothing to do with the fictional or real individuals they are named after. I just needed good fantasy names, and those fit.

Update at 24 hours.

I'm doing fine. The swelling is minimal and I'm in no pain. I just have to be careful about how and what I eat, and remember to take Ibuprofen every four to six hours.

Yes, I got my wisdom teeth removed. (Ow.)

Oooh... you lucky dog. I need my wisdom teeth out too, but you've got government sponsored health care! And for all of yous from the wonderful country of Canada: A song.

Oh, Canada
Welcome to Canada, it's the Maple Leaf State.
Canada, oh Canada it's great!
The people are nice and they speak French too.
If you don't like it, man, you sniff glue.
The Great White North, their kilts are plaid,
Hosers take off, it's not half bad.
I want to be where yaks can run free,
Where Royal Mounties can arrest me.

Let's go to Canada, let's leave today,
Canada, oh, Canada, I Si Vous Plait.

They've got trees, and mooses, and sled dogs,
Lots of lumber, and lumberjacks, and logs!
We all think it's kind of a drag,
That you have to go there to get milk in a bag.
They say "eh?" instead of "what?" or "duh?"
That's the mighty power of Canada.
I want to be where lemmings run into the sea,
Where the marmosets can attack me.

Let's go to Canada, let's leave today,
Canada, oh, Canada, I Si Vous Plait.

Please, please, explain to me,
How this all has come to be,
We forgot to mention something here.
Did we say that William Shatner is a native citizen?
And Slurpees made from venison,
That's deer.

Let's go to Canada, let's leave today,
Canada, oh, Canada, I Si Vous Plait.

Actually, as far as I can tell, the government didn't help me out that much here. I got 80% covered due to the fact that I'm included in my stepfather's dental plan at work.

*sings carefully to avoid screwing up mouth*

"If you're Canadian, you're from Canadia!
Our future's behind us, make way for our past,
Sing out strong and loud:
If you're Canadian, you're from Canadia!
We may not know much, but by Christ, we're proud!"

27-hour update: I hate it when food gets stuck in the gaps. And not being able to chew with molars. That really sucks. Try chewing only with your front teeth. Sucks, doesn't it?

Eeeeeelix!

I hope you are feeling okay today! I hope your weekend wasn't totally all pain.

Canada won the gold in Hockey! There's something to be happy about! *giggles*

How are you anyway?

Finish off the 50-year losing streak. Woo.

As for me, I'm doing well. My lower left jaw is chronically sore, but I think that's from the trauma inflicted by the doc splitting my tooth in half with a chisel. Ouch. x_X Otherwise, I'm fine. No pain, easy to keep the gaps clean.

(School-wise, it's getting interesting...but I'm pretending school doesn't exist for another day or two. Fortunately, it's reading week.)

And I have ice cream. Neopolitan. Yum.

Huh, goes to show how much I know about hockey. Anywho, congrats on your survival on the operation. I'd send a card, but, well you know.

Day 8:

I'm doing fine. Amazingly enough, today is mostly pain-free so far. All week has been on-and-off pain, and I haven't managed to get much work done. Hopefully, my instructors will take that as a legitimate reason to get extensions. Around yesterday the last of my stitches worked themselves out, which is a good sign; my mouth's finally beginning to heal. (First it has to get over the "WHAT THE HECK DID YOU DO TO ME?!?!" reaction...then it can begin to heal.)

It's been a mostly-relaxing week for me...I got to practice drawing a little (I can draw heads, and I can draw bodies, but I can't draw heads on bodies. It just doesn't work.), and I managed to smooth out some problems with certain residents in the dorms, so all is well.

Too bad school starts up again on Monday. x_X
