No, it's intentional. Long-tailed weasels' fur changes to white in the winter and brown in the summer. So do ermine, but they're much smaller.
I could prolly give you the whole rundown on the lives of various weasl species, but I don't feel like it right now.

Hmm, isn't Xe most likely an ermine instead of a weasel, when his fur changes to white in winter?
Okay, on the other hand I'm not a bioligist.

Actually, in north america there are three species known as "weasels". There's the long-tailed weasel (what Xe is) which is the largest, and changes color in the winter in the northern part of its range; the short-tailed weasel (ermine), which is much smaller and also changes; and the least weasel, which is the smallest, and doesn't change color.
Does that clear anything up?

Actually, no, I have no animal pics on my computer, because my home computer is crappy. I have all kinds of animal pics in books/ cut out from magazines, though.
