Does anyone here use or know about this program? I've had it a little over a year, and still can't figure it out. I'd love to know how to trace my artwork in vector style, but I can't control the way the line works. Any help?
I did some fan art for Gloria a week ago and I wanted to trace it in illustrator, but there was no point to it 'cause I can't use the darn thing. Hey Gloria, I have no I idea if you got the pic. My email was erased. It was a pic of Xe colored in photoshop carrying a big white flower.

I know Photoshop inside and out, but illustrator is out of my leauge. I have a friend here that knows how to use it, and he's got the manual at home. Perhaps if you were more specific we could help you out.

As far as simple designs go, those are no problem. I want to do something more complex with the paint tool that makes the line look very vector-ish. Every time I start a second line the first line I started with either disappears or combines with other lines and screw everything up. You can some amazing things inside and out with this program, its just knowing how to do it correctly is the hard part. I've worked with Photoshop for four years and it was never this hard. I guess its just trial and error and playing with the program is the way to go......or find someone who's a pro. Guess I'll have to find a graphic design freelancer to kiss up to or what and take the classes next fall at my university for my major.
Thanks for the concern

Well, my buddy James (who is no longer here) is in a class using it in college. He says that its "a very dumb program" and he says that it uses a lot of tools "like those bendy line thingies you use in photoshop" So... using that as a guideline (no pun intended) have you tried right clicking on the layer you are working and selecting "stroke subpath" or "apply ink to path" or something like that? Just a thought, sorry I'm not much help.

I had to install it on a bunch of machines, Hiro, the media guy, hates it. He much prefers Freehand. Thats all I know.

Freehand is something I want to mess with, but I need to budget myself. This program is....jeez...I need to an illustrator for dummies book cuz I'm sure a hell need it. Oh well.
