Colonebut in later issues I'd be interested in others (Fenni, Erinzo, etc.) as well... there are a few I can think of who would quite obviously (well, ok, probably - people there are who can surprise mightily) give rather boring interviews (well, for the intended audience) not out of reticence but because there's ... erm... apologies for saying this, but "no one home"... so, no requests from this corner for a certain squirrel unless she undergoes major character development, for instance. Wendy is another matter...

I'm acctually surprised about 'Vayi, didn't guess anyone would care that much about her. I haven't recieved a reply yet, but I mailed and asked just yesterday or the day before... Preliminary, I'd say all of the characters on your list are nice suggestions, even if a few of them are a bit surprising. Due to plot points, Shadowrose and Erinzo (yes, I know he's not technically on the list, watch me care) as well as a few more are ruled out, for the first issue. Which is a rather good reason it's good you gave that many suggestions.*chuckle* Another front page change is in order...

I had quite a few reasons for choosing her. While she doesn't get much airtime, the roles she's called on to play, I sometimes imagine, may be rather - responsible; or perhaps I'm only imagining that she takes her maternal role far more seriously than, say, does Achira. (Due to limited time - library computer, again; I'll be home in 4 or so hours- I think I'll stop there and continue with the rest of the post...)

Fenni and Robin both seem to have more to them than Jaq does (mentally and emotionally) and to have gone through quite a lot more as well (though I'll admit I just don't know, in the case of Jaq, and that might modify a little my view of her) and this certainly would influence any choice...(It wasn't clear, but my initial list was meant to be spread over the first few issues, despite the fact that I then appended yet more names after it, btw...)

(Remembering rumors that a recent Plan Nine book contained some sort of spoiler to what was then (it's since come and gone) a forthcoming storyline, so an answer to a question's being a spoiler might not necessarily- or it might, of course- disqualify the question, or the answer at that, from permissibility, at the author's discretion... but there are nonetheless excellent reasons for the author to have several ways to screen questions...

I'll admit the phrasing of the poll has me nearly bewildered (in a half-good way) - "Whom do you want to interview"- are you offering your readers an opportunity to suggest some of the questions?

Well, I just wanted suggestions, some of them I wouldn't have gone with anyways. Which I think you noticed, seeing how I decimated your list a bit. I think I'll typically have five candidates when the time comes to choose a character, the five choseable (is that a word?) varying depending on what's currently in the comic. Since there are questions likely to come up that I don't want.

Odd- can't seem to read the comic Flipside itself at the moment (table nestings?) but the interview page works fine, and clarifies your intentions perfectly.
Hope you can get permission.

So long as suggestions are being polled, have you considered either
1) including short stories (Erigineea-related) in Raptor
and/or 2) having a sort-of see-how-many-questions-reader-can-guess-right mail-in card perhaps regarding future plot points (of Raptor, not current PH, to the extent that Raptor diverges from PH of course- otherwise readers of PH have a bit of an advantage there...- hrm. This would have to be worked, somehow? Or something, anyway...)... contest of sorts...
and/or 3) inviting some sort of extended reader submissions after a certain point?

Well, I'd tend to think one would notice if one's question was taken out, and I want to try to have as many of the questions in there as possible, so... Not answering a question may sometimes be just as telling as answering it. So... Some characters I don't want people asking questions to. *snicker* There's a lot of interesting stuff Jaq could tell people, I'm sure. She may be shallow, but she is in the person-sense, not in the character-sense. So she's not a cardboard character, just a very predictable person. At least in some situations...*shrug* Flipside is sometimes incredibly slowloaded, I've noticed, especially the early pages, so that may be your problem. Don't know, just a guess.Don't give me the "You're a tech major, you should know", I get that from both teachers and parents...Including short stories is something I will do, at least in some issues, based on how much room the rest of the material requires. Typically, a long comic or facts article makes for less other material. If I can figure out where to get A3 printer paper and it's possible to put those in our color printer, a double-size pin-up may or may not be in question. Matters on how much I have time to draw, too, pinups and one-panels generally require more working on the coloring to look good. So, inclusion of short stories or the lack thereof depends on space and my ability to write non-smut. There's been blessedly little of that, lately. What I have that isn't incredibly smutty is incredibly disturbing. We'll see. Original artwork will be there.

Me, I suspect that this is a case of HTML that my browsers can't handle- nested-or-too-many-or-mismatched tables or table-elements or somesuch. But- it may just require patience as you say!
