I dunno chief, I didn't much mind the reimagining of Planet of the Apes.
------------------

There was one thing about POTA2001 that i liked, and it was the underlining story about the ape diety who was seen as a savior, but in reality was a murderer whose offspring had undermined the entire society for thousands of years. Just like our religions. It also was a strong backup on the fact, not a theory, a fact, of evolution.
Evolution is real, you fundamentalist, baptist assholes. There's proof. Maybe you yourself, being the unevolved knobs that you are don't help back that up, but there's proof. A lot more proof than there is for most of your beliefs. So just admit it.
------------------

Liking the original better I can certainly understand, mind.
------------------

For some odd reason, people just don't like remakes. Go fig.
People always look at me like I'm growing testicles on my forehead whenever I have the temerity to suggest that the Godzilla remake of the mid nineties wasn't such a bad flick.
No, they long for the days of guys in rubber suits and cheesy-looking spaceships on visible wires and bad, bad VERYbad dubbing.
Not only do they think the old one was better, but they vehemently stress at every possible turn that the 90's remake was just SOOOO very bad, even though no one can ever tell me what was bad about it.
Frankly, I think they just have a problem with Matthew Broderick in anything but Ferris Beuller. Or maybe it was the French. Or possibly that half the regular cast of the Simpsons made an appearance in that movie somewhere. No, wait, that was one of the things they LIKED. Hmmmm....
Whatever. To each their own.
------------------
I can't tell if I'm a kingpin or a pauper!
