Miss mayor is back!
it's good to see miss mayor back for a simple slice of life story.
the darkness is ever present even in the light.
the perversion doesn't stop just because the sun comes up
if i can make people think and consider their lives even for a moment each day then my life has just that much more meaning
one of the hardest skills i seek to master is the skill of knowing when to shut up

I'm here to see sex, not drama.
Well then. If that's how you feel.. then it's best you find a comic without substance. Elle, and all the others is probaly more for you then. Sex, only a bit of drama.
The stories presented to us about Shirlee and her mother are personal and shared with us because we respect and care for them and their own. If you care not about this, then you are more then welcomed to not even bother with this comic.

That's just what makes this strip so different from many others-- Kat is a storyteller. Sure, he could do twice-a-week yiff without any substance (humour or drama), but what would the point be? It would quickly lose its attraction to the readers, because it's the same-old same-old every time and only so much originality is left with only yiff. And it would lose its appeal to the creator, because the creator isn't challenged and rewarded for his efforts that way.
Yiff strips tend to burn out. Fast.
While this has yiff as a central theme, Kit 'n Kay Boodle is not a "yiff strip"- There is humour, drama, joy, compassion....and a whole world to learn and care about. Not to mention caring about the characters.
They're much more than just sex objects.

While I don't usually think trolls deserve a response, I think it's true what Amy and Silver have said, and this is a fine a place as any to say it. I think sex can be lost in sex, and while there are a thousands of sites dedicated to showing penises, vaginas, mouths, and breasts in all sorts of mingled combinations, what we've gained here is something completely different. I am not suggesting that there aren't other comics out there that revolve around sex and story and drama, but what I would say is that this comic is certainly very unique in the way it takes the author's true visions, ideals, and heart and works them into his world of flagrent sexuality, which we have by and large fallen completely in love with.
What makes the sex in Kat's comic worth paying attention to, for me at least, is the playful awareness the characters display and the emotional and intellectual investments we as readers put into them. It seems to me that this comic address feelings many of us have had, but may have been undefined. Many of us begin to question the intrinsic value that our tradition has superimposed onto sex, and while most of us would not be ready to dispense with sex's importance entirely, we do begin to wonder why it is held at such an unspeakable position, and why it is such a obstacle.
Somehow, or so I've seen in my circle, sex has found itself a false dichotomy in our society, where it must be either nasty, dark and worthless; or sacred, almighty, and unquestionable. I find religion to be a large proponent of this di-polarized view, as it pushes both extemes simultaneously. One objective Kat attempts to acomplish with his art is to cast sex in a practical, friendly, sharing, and open light where it can be something of friendship, generosity, and sun-lit fun as well as a display of deep and mutual love (sometimes even exclusive). He appears to view a shame of one's own sexuality (or that of others) to be utterly ridiculous but understandable. He finds it incumbent upon each us as sexual beings and citizens of the world to be self-aware, self-assures, and cosmopolitan when it comes to sexuality and, perhaps all things, and I am likely one to agree.

Oh, ho! A guest is coming to meet Miss Mayor! Someone not used to the on-line scene. Actually, is it that they are not used to being on-line, or socializing on-line in the way that Kat, Shirly and Mayor Mom are known for?
Am I going to turn into a red cat from all the blushing that I might be doing?

be on her guessing right.

Oh, and thank you SC (and my other forum members as well) for showing
the strength and the personal restraint not to bother flaming that troll. There
are plenty of other places to go online where whoever-it-was can
find just that and nothing more. If whoever-it-was couldn't guess that my
comic wasn't one of those places, no amount of flaming would've wised them
up. My gratitude to you all for being the kind of readers I'd hoped I'd earned. ^_^
