Liking bad girls only causes you trouble.
I can't say I have any preference - it depends on the story and the storyteller.
A story depends on its characters. Sometimes the most popular characters
in a story turn out to be the bad guys (or girls).
If you read the comic now you can see what the phoenix was like during the iceage. She had more self-crontrol but she still had a pretty low opinion of mere mortals.
The younger phoenix is also thinner but I know a few of my readers won't like her that way.
Well, Nivlek is supposed to be reckless and wild. He's a potential danger to himself sometimes, not good for an endangered species. He also loves sex which IS good for endangered species. Here's one last look at the fat phoenix.
Oh yeah, there's a reason for Phleona's condition in the future. I won't reveal it now but keep reading and see how different she was in the past.

That's funny, I wouldn't have thought that Phelona was blue-green. I
would've thought more a cream color...
