Hello, I'm new, if you didn't that already notice then you must be new too...

Don't know if anyone's seen this yet, found it while looking using yahoo to find the site after losing my link due to a dying hd this past summer. Anyway, this is the msot pathertic site I think I've ever seen: http://fantasticalbestiary.keenspace.com/badcomics.html

I read somewhere that there is now at least (at the VERY
least) one web page for every living human being alive. It
is inevitable that you will find those who will actually waste
time obsessing over things that do not meet their approval
instead of dismissing it and moving on.

Generally, I dismiss *them* and move on. ;)

Hello Sallygirl and welcome! <=) Just a question...are you a Sonic fan or your name here is just a coincidence? =)

In some way I agree with you Kat! But reading what that jerk wrote just made my blood boil! I too try to dismiss this sort of stuff when it's about me...but I usually don't stand when someone insults a friend of mine (or his artwork in this case)! *grrrr* That damned asshole! He just gave me a headache! :x

I aggree with you Itax too. I cant stand it when some artist try to burn someone hard work just because they think they are better at it. Comments like "It's not my fault you suck" tend to anger me  , especially if it's aimed at one of my friends or familly :(
If you don't root for your team, THEN GET THE HELL OUT OF THE STADIUM.

On this board it's the readers that are special. :)

The more time I spend working with my art, I learn more and
more the truism of one of our mutual friends (Gene!) who told
me "The World Wide Web is exactly that: world wide." There's
no way that anyone who creates anything can escape the tiny-
minded types of the world - there are simply too many of them.

But if I spend time obsessing over the -single- individual who
hasn't anything better to do than be pushed out of shape
over something he could just as easily ignore, then I miss the
appreciation of (if my Keenspace stats are accurate) -hundreds-
of readers who like what I do! So you can guess what choice
I make!

Welcome SallyGirl!

And as I think of this "Bad Comics" link, I don't mind much about it. The guy seemingly saw it, posted an example and wrote how much he didn't get it. And do see that Penny Arcade is included, too.

Not worse than seeing the Furry Inflation Page up the "Awful Link of the day" archives. Today's lesson : KatEllis's comic is one of my fav!

...okay, not really a lesson, but my opinion! :)

On the Yerf forum I had to put up with Jon Gilmarten. He's thouroghly convinced that he's the greatest artist on Yerf and that it's his job to insult other artists like me. Squee rat seems to hate me too and I have no idea why. I never did anything to provoke them. I don't go to the Yerf forums anymore.

He describes his own work as:
Michael Rosen wrote:...an on-going parody of pretentious art-house psycho-babble.
He describes himself as:

He admits that he messed with his mind as a child:

*bows* All hear to Mighty Gene's words of wisdom! ^_^ He's quite correct indeed!

Yeah! I guess all we have left to do is to ignore (or at least try to) those pea-brained suckers and stick with the ones who like what we do! FURDOM FOREVER!! :D

And strangely enough, I haven't seen *either* of those artists
on Yerf in a long, long time. You don't have to have done
anything to some people to make them dislike you. Don't
worry about it.

He doesn't rate *himself* that highly, should I worry about
how he rates my stuff?

Actually, they aren't that difficult to ignore. I get far, far more
positive comments about my art than any other. With that kind
of ratio, I have nothing to fret about.

Thanks guys. It felt terrible when those flamewars broke out on Yerf. I'll just have to remember that they insult others because of some kind of inferiority complex and a massive hatred for cute art.

Hey, one of the coolest artists I know (Karma) told me that
there was a department on a website called Portal Of Evil
that was *created* for the purpose of saying hateful things
about my comic. The moment you create anything, you run
the risk of someone resenting it.

With readers as cool as yourself and the others
liking my stuff, there's no reason to do anything
less. :)
