Look at that little face...
Skaaaamm...you're supposed to be a Very Bad Man just now. Don't go making endearing faces like that and acting all bashful, and making you hard to dislike even after all the crap you've pulled/may still pull.

Hard to dislike? One innocent-looking face and he could be let off the hook? Don't tell Skamm that... he'll wriggle his way out of any punishment O_OSkaaaamm...you're supposed to be a Very Bad Man just now. He does look rather cute... very "please like me, I just want to appreciate your body, sir..." kind of adorable.
... Almost. It depends on if he manages to redeem himself in a big way. I feel sorry for him for how repressed he's made himself, but... wait and see.

You know, you can restrict your clientele soley to couples, and there are places in the world that really are are nudist only, but go as far as to say "sex or get out" and you bring up a few problems. It marks the first instance of nudity and sex being a requirement, rather than just a "when in Rome" type of thing.
I can't help but wonder if the notion gets a raised eyebrow or two, even in a place like Yiffburg.

Technically, the only enforced rules are that couples only are allowed and clothing isn't. Very few times has anyone in such clubs been hassled - or even spoken to - by the staff for not yiffing. But clubs such as these are usually founded and financed by citizens who emigrated to Yiffburg, not native to the city. Their experiences with the outside world are the reason they set those kinds of requirements - because of their negative experiences with dress codes and "PDA" behavior in the rest of the world.
They feel that if you can enforce "no shirt, no shoes, no service" rules and be thrown out of places for public displays of affection in the rest of the world, then they can enforce clothing-prohibited and yiff-centric rules in their own places.

Which I think is the premise behind swingers' parties IRL if I recall correctly. There are such couples-only clubs for this purpose that actually exist.KatEllis wrote:You know, you can restrict your clientele soley to couples, and there are places in the world that really are are nudist only, but go as far as to say "sex or get out" and you bring up a few problems. Ahhh, but just try and hold any kind of signing of legal documents there. Even if nothing says you can't, at best you can expectSethtriggs wrote:Which I think is the premise behind swingers' parties IRL if I recall correctly. I wouldn't be surprised if there was a website using exactly that slogan ^_^Sethtriggs wrote:I just want to say, I LOLed at the January 19 comic. That website tagline is hilarious to me. And great double-entendre in the last panel!

Re: Look at that little face...
I was struck by a thought when I read the bit about the "power of greed". Traditionally, both "greed" and "lust" are considered part of the "Seven Deadly Sins". Is this a battle of the vices?
This lead me to remember a bit of trivia: In the original telling of the origin of Captain Marvel, he passes statues representing "The Seven Deadly Enemies of Mankind", which are based on those sins. However "Lust" was replaced with "Injustice", due to 1940's sensibilities. After all, we can't have "lust" in a super-hero comic book!

Re: Look at that little face...
There's definitely something endearing about Skamm. Only he can go from aspiring world dictator, torn between deadly sins (I swear I thought he was going to announce that "greed, for lack of a better word, is good"), and then be all :D, just like that.
Re: Look at that little face...
Well, he can banish naughty little daydreams away. However, when he is presented with a real temptation, we will see if greed holds out.

Re: Look at that little face...
It's not actually a battle between vices. Skamm has no pretentions about morality one way or the other; he's clearly shown himself to be the most amoral, cold-blooded member of the quartet of lawyers. Whereas Mitchell was ready to fake Blaine's death, Skamm altered the scenario to actually kill Blaine (or tried to) showing him to be the only one of the four who would stoop to murder. The only reason Skamm was hiding his lust was because it interfered with his greed. So he's not truly pitting one against the other - he'd be quite content to go on simply hiding his libido if he didn't need to get rid of it. But since, in order to be the full recipient of Karostropov's power, he has to not merely hide it but get rid of it, that's what he's trying to do. It's purely a matter of "what Karossy wants, Karossy gets - so I can get what Karossy will give me".Patchy wrote:I was struck by a thought when I read the bit about the "power of greed". Well, if he's endearing now, wait until his final inward struggle takes place...WolfWarriorRunning wrote:There's definitely something endearing about Skamm. We'll see quite a bit more than that...Patchy wrote:Well, he can banish naughty little daydreams away. However, when he is presented with a real temptation, we will see if greed holds out.
