Life's changes...

Post by AmyStereo »

Richard, I'm glad to see that you want to better yourself, so as one reader, I can forgive that you may not be as frequent as you'd like with the strip.

I hope things are still OK with you and shirlee, and I hhope this person from your past is not conflicting with things between you and your lovely mouse.

If I presume too much, accept my apologies.

Rich, does this have to do with a certain family member I think it does?

It has been inspired, so to speak, by a family member (wishes you didn't
feel you had to lurk) ^_^
Finding and reestablishing my relationship with my father has made me see
a lot of things. How adult I've become (and that's good), how immature I
still am (and that needs to change). But most of all, I have been made
profoundly aware of how finite one's span of years is and how criminally
wrong it is to waste any of it. Having my dad again has brought me full
circle - I see my own self clearly for the first time. Things that made me
feel sad or confused in the past - I now know why. All of this has changed
me for the better. The person I used to be was putting up with a job that
I really didn't like but kept it because it was (more or less) paying the
bills. The person I am now sees how wrong and how foolish this has been
and is resolved to change it. So I've enrolled in some local education
courses and am now working towards gaining the necessary training to
bring about that change. This being done in my spare time means that
less spare time is available for the comic. But I have to do this. I can't
settle for less any more. I used to tell myself that I was doing it so Shirlee
and I could reach a few financial goals sooner. But now I see that there's
no goal worth reaching that I can't reach, and that I'm being less of who I
am (for both Shirlee and myself) to shoot for anything less than the bulls-
eye. So that's what I'm doing. I literally can't do less. :)

Anyone presuming to come between Shirlee and I you wouldn't read
about in this forum, but in a news headline under "Worst Ass-kicking
Ever Received". And subtitled "But recipient deserved it for trying to
come between husband-and-wife artist duo." >=)

Hee! :D You two are one of those rare couples I cannot even imagine being without each other...

And as someone once said: Keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars. (Casey Kasem)

Glad you are doing what you feel needs to be done. I hope you find yourself more personally fulfilled. I am sure that, like most of your fans, I will feel a touch of disappointment that there may be times when you will need to skip updating it, but that's just because we enjoy your work so much. However, deep-down, it is for the best, and you aren't abandoning the comic et al (whew!).

Good luck!

Thanks Patchy! I would never lead my readers on.. if the comic was
something I could no longer keep up, I would bring the story to an end
and let everybody know. I need time to study, though. The comic will
continue as long as I have any time at all to draw it. :)

Good luck

I've been a silent reader since you were on Keenspace, and I suppose I felt the need to say good luck to you for the first time! As always, a good reader is a patient one. Likewise, a fan should know that the artist you adore should ALWAYS take care of himself (and his mousey lady) first. So, I wish you good luck on your learning endeavors!

Yeah, and as always we'll look forward to more whenever it comes around.

I'm hoping the best for you in this life change!

Hehe, it was based on my idea of having a character that was twisted and liked weapons. Called her Junkie and seeing as how she was more bunny than anything else and that 'Suicide' is a depressing word, she became Junkie the Suicide Bunny. Yay!

Trust me, my other cheerful fursona (Chaz beadle) is pretty much me, Junkie is the twisted side that comes out when I draw sickeningly cute cubs holding knifes and saying 'When I grow up, I want to be a MASS MURDERER!!!'

Wow, Kat. Seems like both of us seem to be heading to a new kind of life :3

I wouldn't mind less updates, just as long as you do whatever needs to be done. I congratulate you for taking another step to your life, and I wish you and Shirlee the best <3. Good luck to both of you :3 <3

Yes, good luck to you and your mousie, big guy. I only wish I had the chance
to make my move as you have. One of these days it'll come. <=)

Ascend the staircase! Onward and upward!
And be aware: though certainly your faithful and devoted mouse will catch you if you should fall (and I have most gargantuan doubt that you would lose your footing), your friends here support you as well.
