I think this means they currently have many lives in their hands.
They may not exactly hold the fates of many people in their hands, but
what they do (or fail to do) with the abilities that have been entrusted to
them could affect a lot of people. The 'Gods of Yiff' are not truly gods in
the widely accepted sense of the word, but there is a lot of power
they can wield.

Well, let's hope they'll do their best... but one thing I DO hate if failer, but that's just me. :(

that much i can understand. the gods ore yiffy did not think of themselfs as gods infact they seems a little surpized if not amused when they found out that they were refered to as such.
the darkness is ever present even in the light.

the perversion doesn't stop just because the sun comes up

if i can make people think and consider their lives even for a moment each day then my life has just that much more meaning

Eep. She may not have been included in the grant of power, but she's definitely linked to it!

Indeed, she is their link to it. Through her, they can manifest their
control of the abilities the departed beings posessed. When she is not
there, everything is back to normal. (It would be awkward indeed for
them to have to worry every single moment about whether they might
be doing something that was affecting someone through the power of
the gods of yiff.)

So in essence, the nameless Vixen is some sort of vessel for the powers? Whoa!

I wonder if she is a deity in her own right... that'd be a neat thing to have folks try to name her. It'd need to be an awesome name though. Heh heh...

Didn't see that one coming.

So the power is contained in the Vixen? Does that mean that Kit n' Kay need her to use their new powers, or do they need to ask the Vixen to preform the tasks FOR them? In the words of great asian movies: We shall see!

It might be giving a bit of the plot away, but... the nameless vixen is not
in and of herself a deity-like creature. She's sort of a friendly "interface"
between the level of existence where the energy of the departed gods of
yiff exists and Kit & Kay's world. They are the only ones who can access
it... they are the only 'keys' that fit the 'lock'. The gods of yiff knew that
beings that aren't used to having such power (even though they are the
most qualified to be its custodians) would not be able to watch every
single thing they do and would need a way to have the power 'locked off'.

I think the word you're looking for is "conduit". :) Otherwise, appropriate description. :)

I dunno, 'interface' works if they can perform actions through her. It's similar to how, for example, an operating system has a graphical user interface (GUI) that allows you to interact with the logic within the computer.

This message board, for example, has a GUI that obviates the need to mess with a database filled with posts.

So likewise, Kit n Kay can summon our dear vixen with a sort of "plug n play" interface into the powers of the Gods of Yiff.

Gods of Yiff. Can you believe the power? Even though I'm sure the foxes wouldn't, they could probably 'alter' anyone's sexual experience...that's a power that would be cool like the other side of the pillow.
