Well, word spreads quickly, I see...yes, the 2001 Estrella War had a few casualties. Pennsic is a bit far from Southern California, wouldn't you think?------------------

hey if the Swedes can make it, then anyoen can. or the Australians. course i drive form boston every year <IMG SRC="http://www.keenspace.com/forums/smile.gif">btw, there was a class at pennsic this year on SCA and the media, and Estrella and the media was greatly discussed, and how the media got the story right but our own internal SCA mailing lists talked about it for months,and kept tellign rumors all the time...great comic btw <IMG SRC="http://www.keenspace.com/forums/smile.gif">------------------

Yeah, two people died because they were inexperienced campers, it was cold, and they put space heaters in their tents, which caused them to fill with carbon monoxide and suffocate the occupants.Now, I can't speak for Beri because he's an ambassador from the hot hot land full of celts who make me talk funny, but for my part I haven't been to Pennsic because two weeks out of my life at a significant financial drain just isn't worth it at this juncture. If I lived closer, probably, but when I can go to a war that's just as large, if not as long, for a fraction of the cost, plus be with people I consider family . . . well, that trumps Pennsic nine ways to sunday.That being said, I'm starting the household up again, if any of you are in the SoCal area and are interested. email me.--Matt/Tryggvi.[This message has been edited by matrygg (edited 12-09-2001).]
