Alright, we have a long list of things for the GCAN on the 9 and 11 (since I missed a day), so I figured I may as well start this one early. Rest assured though, in my typical fashion, this won't be in until 03/11 anyway. Usually I start out with gaming news and digress into anime, but for a change I am going to flip them. And once again, if anyone has any news from the comic world (because my head just isn't in it) feel free to supplement this thread with message goodness.

First off, I finally found a <A HREF="http://www.usagichan.com/Katsucon8/" target="_blank">Katsucon 8 report</A>, courtesy of Lionboogy. The site is pretty detailed, and should serve you well if you are wondering what happened at Katsucon this year. And the cosplay galler is simply an astounding 80 some pages totalling over 200 images. If you happen to have some time, it comes highly reccomended.

Speaking of Katsucon, <A HREF="http://www.katsucon.com/" TARGET="_blank">someone messed up the hotel</A> and screwed up the location of KC 9. They are now mounting a hotel search, which is overly depressing. It sucks to think that a few irresponsible people are responsible for such a large amount of damage. (Not to mention getting the location of the con moved.)

Slightly out of Anime, but not really, Cartoon Network <A HREF="http://www.comicscontinuum.com/stories/ ... /index.htm" TARGET="_blank">picked up</A> an amazing number of shows for the upcoming season. There is some Justice League, some Powerpuff Girls, and as far as anime, a few named series that I haven't even heard of. Has anyone hear of "Hamtaro"?

I feel now obligated to throw out the connection between Anime and games for this GCAN. And I am going to throw it out in bigger / bolder font.

It's a small little blurb, I know. But it is oh so sweet to read. You must understand that I am mostly Nintendo loyal, and likely will be for a long time. I was crushed when everything Squaresoft related moved to Sony and left Nintendo out in the cold. But, alas, this will be no more! Finally, I can sink my teeth into FMVs that are computer graphics in their most pure form. Finally, there is a light at the end of the tunnel of darkness that has been an RPG-less Nintendo gaming platform*. At last, Square and Nintendo have done something other than split further apart.

<FONT SIZE="1">* BoF and Ogre Battle are awesome games. I know this, so do you, but I was refering to the Final Fantasy series, so shush.</FONT>

In other gaming news, despite my distaste for M$, they seem to be doing something right with expansions. Especially when it comes to DOA3. The latest thing is an "<A HREF="http://gamespot.com/gamespot/stories/ne ... 00,00.html" TARGET="_blank">expansion disc</A>". Before you flame me, let me tell you the price of this disc. Free. Yes, you heard me. The disc is free in the June issue of the X-Box magazine. In the disc will be extra costumes and another FMV. While you need the original disc to use this, the concept of free add-ons to a game is encouraging. Especially smaller asthetics like this. And the best thing of all, it actually illustrates a practical use for that big green machine's hard drive. Hopefully this will set a trend for future X-Box releases.

While you are wandering around the spot, you may have seen that Capcom vs. SNK2 is coming out for the Cube. It seems that several games from the now suffering DC are finding their way onto current systems. And when it is games like C v SNK 2, who am I to complain. Just as long as those don't become the only thing coming out on these "next generation" systems.

Finally coming full circle to the land of web comics (and in this case gaming web comics) there is word of an <A HREF="http://www.rpgworldcomic.com/index.html" TARGET="_blank">RPGWorld Video Game</A> coming out. The screenshots look tasty, especially if you have been reading the comic and can pinpoint each of those scenes.

If you were to put the FOG cast in a game, what kind of game do you think it would be?

TMR Out

Man. I'm probably one of the few out there that isn't happy about this. I don't have a GBA or a Game Cube. And I probably won't be getting one for a long, long time.

PS2, my friend. (And Dreamcast, but their dead)
