A thought on monsters/giant robots, etc-

That actually wouldn't be too hard to do. For smaller monsters, use people in costume. For larger ones, use either costume and have them run around on a model, or use a model/puppet of the monster and do the same thing. For robots, again, you could probably get away with using models, especially with a few simple camera tricks and such.

Well. It's in the planning stages.

I'm writing the first draft of the script this weekend so I can show it to our possible Neored (although I think he wants to be Neoyellow, and guys usually are yellow rangers in japan, so shush).

That's cool. I'm sure there's quite a few people here wishing they lived near enough to help with making it. ^_^

*nod* Damn me and my Vermont-ness. The best I could do is make quips and comments on the script, and help with funding.

Super kool!!!

Dennis this sounds great!
I hope that I can contribute when I recover from my trip in May!

I know you said that the costumes would be different but what about the helmets? Those were the logo for Neoranger 1. C'mon man, pleeeeease tell me you're using the same helmets!

Hi everyone! My first post here. First I'd like to say that I've been reading FOGClub for a long time and I loved the idea of the Neoranger movie.

But, alas, my first post comes with a sad note. I just found out last night that Thuy Trang, the actress who played the Yellow Ranger in the original MMPR series, was killed in a car accident back in September. Was anyone aware of this or am I just spreading old news? It really made me sad, she was such a beautiful woman, and an excellent acress.

I had known about this for a while now...

From IMDB:

(3 September 2001) Thuy was driving on I-5 between San Francisco and Los Angeles when another driver hit her car. The unidentified woman was unharmed in the accident because she had her seatbelt on, but Thuy died upon impact because she didn't have her seatbelt on.

Everyone go buy the yellow power ranger playback VHS and The Crow 2 now.

I had no idea the original Yellow Ranger died awhile back....

Anyway, while I can't draw at all, if you need help with mecha design concepts and such, lemme know; I love creating new designs in my head....

UPDATE!

Well. For all intents and purposes, "Neoranger: Beta" has a principal cast.

Roles Cast So Far:
Neoblue
Neored
Neoyellow
Main Villain
Female Villain/Eye Candy

(It's good to have a partner in crime. I cast the Villain and Neored, and then Neored turned around and got me Neoyellow and Eye-candy)

PLUS: I've managed to finalize the ranger suit designs, they're different, but functional.

All I need now about 5-7 "putties" and some extras to run screaming when I tell them too.

And chances are...I can put this thing on DVD.

Sounds interesting. Do you need help with deigning things? I'm good at drawing stuff, especially when I really get to work on something.

Besides that, even though I live so far away in Minnesota, I still think it would be cool to get my name in the credits for doing something. ^_^

Will you put it on VHS, too?

I don't have a DVD, and I doubt I can afford one, currently...
BUT I WANT TO SEE THE NEORANGER MOVIE!

... Please? ;_;
