http://www.msnbc.com/news/654655.asp</A> <P>I meant to put something on my front page this
morning and forgot - I went to college with David Burke (the Moth).<P>And the show's getting lots of critical praise, too.<P>So watch it - 8:30 Eastern, 7:30 Central, on Fox.<P>------------------

Tres cool.<P>(I can't believe I just wrote "tres".)<P>I missed it last night; I'm ashamed to admit that my wife and I have been Survivor junkies since day one of the first one. It's my guilty pleasure. We actually cheered last night when the voting took place -- that's how into it we are.<P>I knew full well I was sacrificing "The Tick," which is certainly a better show, but I just couldn't help myself.<P>--Strange/Dave<P>------------------

Watched it last night...<P>it was: F-ing hilarious.
it was: true to the comic.
it was: Gawdamm perfectly cast.<P>I was a bit taken aback when DerFlatermouse was renamed Bat-Manuel, but it worked. And the Apocolypse Cow "fire from her teats" line even made my wife laugh out loud.<P>------------------

I wasn't able to watch it. I was too busy spreading my creamy justice on the City's nooks and crannies. <IMG SRC="

I saw it, and that's buttery justice Bob.<P>I thought it was really good, and they did a great job with the set design making everything look as hokey as the costumes. <P>Patrick Warburton is hilarious as the Tick, with just the slightest inflection of total insanity in his voice.<P>Did y'all notice who directed the pilot episode?<P>None other than Barry Sonnenfeld...<P>------------------

Good episode.<P>Had to find a blank VHS, hope it moves to a
less competative time slot.<P>I'm pretty sure the guy who was BatManuel
doesn't have that accent in real life. He
did use it, however, in Suddenly Susan.<P>------------------

I have a stupid drawing class at that time, so I can't see it EACH WEEK. ::slams head on table:: but a couple months ago I watched some clips from the pilot episode, and they were great. I am downloading it right now from Kazaa, though. Hehe. If you guys want, I can host it on my site when it's done. [not entirely legal, but.... yeah]<P>------------------

I wonder what other rogues they will introduce. I could go for a million zillion ninjas, myself. And maybe the samurai from the first few comics (Pete, was it? Paul?) The line I keep quoting though, is this:
Bat Manuel: I assisted the ladies three times that night, if you know what I mean.
Tick: Nope.
Pure comedic gold, for me.<P>------------------

As a champion for the vacant "all ages" entertainment, I found myself disappointed by the Tick's usage of the B-word (when has the Tick cursed?) and also by the rampant amount of sexual innuendo with the character Bat Manuel. I feel that Die Fledermaus was a much more open character. I also wonder if the action scenes really worked. It's probably just that I miss the cartoon.<P>Other than that, it's certainly one of the best shows on television, especially as the tube's been going downhill faster than fast downhill things.<P>------------------

I miss Deflator Mouse(I'm sure that's supposed to be spelled like the opera but ehhh...I'm too lazy to look it up) and American Maid. Now I have to watch that chick from Brotherly Love and that Spanish nerd from Suddenly Susan. The Tick is a good show and I hope it gets picked up, but it seems to also be a breeding ground for cast-off "supporting cast" characters from dead shows(with the exception of David Burke who was in "The Invisible Man" which is still an on-going show...but he DID die so technically it's just switched around).
I still liked the cartoon more though. After seeing Dr. Strangelove I can now pick up the jokes in "The Tick vs. Dinosaur Neil". Thank you, KaZaA!

Nah, I had to download the episodes. I think it's on Teletoon though up in Canada.<P>
