I'm also in the demographic for the irritating new variety of phone psychics ("Bad news, Steve, but the baby isn't yours," etc.) Which brings up a question: Why would anybody call these places? The commercials leave one with the impression that they're going to tell you your husband is sleeping with your sister, or your sister is sleeping with your husband, or both. Where's the appeal in that?
------------------

Is it if you consider the fact that not only does it have a direct competitor ("Louie the Largemouth Bass") that does exactly the same thing, but there's ALSO someone making CATFISH versions of this monstrosity.
Ick.
BoxJam, got room in that hole? I'll contribute my collection of old Ambush Bug comics for reading material...

------------------

There's room in the hole, but I guess I
agree with Karva. But they are annoying.
Today's strip was way too easy, I think.
Predictable and formulaic. Please disregard
it.
------------------

The Boogie Bass IS that bad, especially if you're targeted like me and have to hear the BB commercial 70-80 times an hour . When are they going to come up with technology that lets you just blank out certain commercials in real time? I'd buy that for a dollar!

------------------

I'm sure General Products has something, Bob...if you manage to find their local rep, be sure to send him my way, as well.
Heck, who knows? Maybe the puppeteers would find the Boogie Bass as amazing as they did Jell-O...at least long enough for us to ship the entire Boogie Bass and Louie the Largemouth Bass stock to the homeworld.

What's really bad is that only antimatter will destroy a General Products Boogie Bass.
And it turns out the Talking Plastic Fish world is even more complicated than it seems. Not only do we have the Boogie Bass and Louie the Largemouth Bass, but for a while there, if you went to http://www.boogiebass.com, it brought up a page hawking a third contender called Loudmouth Billy Bass. But now somebody, presumably the makers of the Boogie Bass, have taken control of the domain name and it just comes up to a plain "coming-soon" type text screen.
I'm hoping the Talking Plastic Fish manufacturers wage an apocalyptic battle to the death sometime soon. Just imagine Louie the Largemouth Bass screaming "I WILL kill him!"

------------------

From the moment I saw one in a mall I knew it was just going to be one more stupid thing I'd hate like Furbies, Tickle Me Elmos, or those damn Tamagotchi.
I hate them so.

I believe you're all forgetting about "Bruce The Spruce" the singing pine tree that comes out during Christmas time.
If you ask me, between a singing tree with a red hat on top and a singing fish, I'll take the singing fish any day.
------------------
