Ya know you're getting insight when T has Jason shadow them like that.
I'm glad that Jackie isn't going for that kind of power. I also like the fact that we all went through the conversation that was today's comic. Most of all though, I'm glad that Stu has a chance and that it's not an instant thing.
I agree with Kath, kind of. I think that Stu was not so drunk as to not have realized what he was doing, then again, we got to see his thought bubble in the post office. I feel sorry for him if Kath is the one doing the test.
I wonder how Rikk will respond though, he was there when Guth talked to Will about Stu "stealing our women!" This could be the further growth of the Skiffy civil war that further complicates their dealings with the General.
Oh, and I'm amused that Meaghan is yawning while reading the folder. Either she doesn't get what the secrets are or they really are that dumb (and Kath was just overreacting by when she got them).

Based on Kath saying that she was a recovering poweraholic, I figured she meant he was drunk on power. The power of using a girl to get what you want. But probably she just meant drunk on alcohol. There is no way she could have known he planned that from the beginning, it is not like he planted the note.
But wouldn't the Fans! have an insight into this from Guth?

I think the Fans! know better than to trust Guth on the topic of Stu. Even if he has known him longest he is clearly biased against him. Guth could say anything about Stu and even though most of it would be true it would come of as inflamatory due to Guth's seething hatred.

Hm...well, biased or not, I'd say that Guth probably has Stu pretty well pegged (surprisingly coherent argument by the latter notwithstanding); How do you think the Thud'n'Blunderer treated 'Pencilneck', as he called Guth, when they were kids?

First impressions are generally pretty good, kids. Booze, booty, and barbarian books.
Even Tim (the First) has a less squicky introduction than Nubby-Knees here.
Also notice the forward-sloped forehead. Your typical garden-variety Neanderthal.

Hmm, I guess it didn't go through this morning after all. Oh, well, try again.
Imagine for a second that Jackie's interest in campaigning really has nothing to do with Stu.
Imagine that she knows Kath well enough to realize that she's been caught in one act of manipulation, and needs to find the sort of convenient lie that will misdirect her from the real truth. Who better than Stu, the only major unknown quantity to date, aside from the (dangerously) underestimated Timin?
Now if we assume that she knows Kath that well, and put it together with the fact that she's able to disturb both Will and Meighan's balance, and what do you get?
Really paranoid theories.

Having suffered much from such types in high school, I am tempted to agree... except that this is Faans we're talking about. T is up there with Mari and Josh for twistiness. I can't imagine that Stu wouldn't be more than what he seems. On 2002-03-06 11:25, Rumy-chan wrote:

Of course, one could turn that logic on it's head, and assert that since making Stu out as the bumpkin he seems to be would be too obvious, that's just what T will do, to catch all of us looking for the curve ball offguard. But as we all know, that kind of game can go 'round and 'round forever.

Not to beat this quote into the ground but it reminded me of "This Island Earth". The professor points out the "sloping foreheads" on the incredibly advanced and intelligent aliens that run the facility. On 2002-03-06 11:25, Rumy-chan wrote:

Of course, what I really think of is the part of MST3K: The Movie that I laughed at most.
Prof. points to picture of alien guy who has a HUG lumpy forehead and always has.
Prof- "Note the sloping forehead..."
Tom Servo *sarcastically*- "NAWWW!!!!"
hee hee hee
OK, as to an actual response, I haven't been so pissed off at the presumptiousness of my fellow fans since the well respected (by the other shop folk) Saturday DM said that stereotypes are what the world lives by and what you have to think with to survive. I still can't believe he said that.......... anyway I think that main split between the Stu camps is the group that takes the feminine side of offendedness at the touching and thinks of how they'd feel versus the more critical side who thinks of it as a drunken step over the line or a major flaw that blinds others from valid points about the character.
I'm not saying I like him at all but I;'m not really AGAINST him.

Okay, gotta throw in my two cents. From what I have seen of Stu, I don't like him. Is there more to him than what we've seen?Probably. T makes characters that are human in that way. Will I like him after we learn more? Maybe not; remember Rumy's roommate? She wasn't bad, I just wouldn't have wanted to hang around her; different set of priorities.
But I also gotta agree with Tom. I think lumping anyone, including Stu, into a sterotype does a disservice to all.

I'll readily agree that T has a knack for making antagonists sympathetic, but I don't put Stu in the same category as the FIB. He reminds me too much of Rumy's ex-"boyfriend" Todd - remember him? The guy with HATE tattooed across his knuckles? T didn't exactly go out of his way to disprove our initial impression of him.

The practice of LOVE/HATE (or LUV/HAT or DURAN/DURAN depending on your taste and how many phalanges you have to write on) didn't start with RHPS. It happens in real life too, but the earliest movie example was probably Robert Mitchum's knuckles in Cape Fear. Side note: One of the characters in the Day of the Jackal also had it.On 2002-03-07 12:09, Rumy-chan wrote:
